Not really. It's like Russell and others who agree with him are disregarding the middle states like Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh Jharkhand, Telangana, Odisha etc. Some customs are different. Most Cultural aspects are the same.

That is why india should be separate. Punjab should have its own nation from Lahore to Chandigarh, Sri Lankan and Tamil should be and Bangladesh should have whole of East India to form Greater Bengal.

He's blatantly true about South and North India. Every state is like a different country. No similarities. No same languages(meaning people cannot understand each other), food, culture every godamn thing you can imagine is completely different.

@@SunilMeena-do7xn The languages for the states you mentioned in your message comprise half of the land in India which clearly means that you won't be able to get along with half of India and I'm sure understanding other languages suffice; Native level fluency is important. I understand Hindi and I speak as well but that's different because we don't speak Hindi at home. Just get your facts straight before you even make a case something rationale.

While I agree with you and we all can be friends in spite of our differnces and cultures and respect one another, not just between our country but everyone all over the world. But at the same time what he said isnt wrong either. Also, it wasnt said in a derogatory way just a fact that told nonindians. I mean if we think abt it, it is crazy and im sure its only in India that theres is such huge difference. If I went to southern India or a southerner came to north india, we cant just talk to anyone. We have to look for an educated person, as the only language we can converse is English.. Think abt it, indians from diff parts can only converse in english, language that is not even theirs. And westerners dont know abt it all.

I'm from Haryana (North India, not just north its north north). I met few girls from South India (Tamil) in New Delhi. Its true that we got so much difference between us. But I found some common things between us like our Hindu religion, culture similarities and the love for our country India.

He spoke the truth. There is nothing common between people from north, west, south and east India. Not just the looks, the food, the accent and entire culture is different, there is a stark contrast in the way of thinking too. North people like to show-off: buying expensive cars and houses and dresses and partying like there’s no tomorrow. South people are very simple and restrictive in attitude but known for having brains.
