You need a truly special qb such as Brady or Mahomes to compete for championships and eat up a ton of the salary cap (I think Brady ever accepted a lower salary than he could have gotten so his team could continue to compete for championships). It isn’t that Russel wasn’t a great qb, it is just that Seattle didn’t think they could build the team they wanted without the financial flexibility.

Honestly, being a Seahawks fan, I was saddened to see Russ traded to the Broncos. I still remember all the amazing years he gave to the Seahawks and all the thrills he gave us fans. When Denver treats their players this way, it shows what kind of organization they really are and also the real reason they can't make the playoffs. He'll land somewhere and make an immediate positive impact. Not only is he still an elite QB, he's also a top notch man.

I am in Washington state and I a huge fan of Russell Wilson, he is the reason Seattle Seahawks won the 2014 Super Bowl, and 2 back to back super bowls apparencies. And I absolutely love the way Russel Wilson handled all of this drama around him. What Seahawks did to him at the end was all business, but what Denver Broncos did to him is really shitty and almost evil. Hats off to Russel Wilson for being the super star he is, he will always be in our hearts and minds for years to come.

Thanks for posting this video. It's another great example. That The NFL is not being televised for athletic sporting purposes. In other words, the NFL is not a sport. The NFL is an entertainment business. The business is not about winning games vs. losing games. The NFL business is about gaining $$$ profits vs.losing profits $$$. The League of Teams owners' #1 goal is not to host up a Super Bowl trophy at the end of the season. Their #1 goal is to gain a higher profit $$$ than the previous season. This is the same as some other league owners of others so-called sports teams. Wake up, America!!!

Coming from a die hard Hawks fan. I had a really hard time rooting for Russ when he was no longer our QB. But, what Denver put him through is BS!! Russ is a good person and I'm happy that he stood his ground. I'm also happy to see him get away from that toxic team and now has a real shot at redemption with the Steelers. God luck to you Russ

You can't hate on Russ he's such a likeable person. The organization did him super dirty and I hope he finds a new home as a Steeler. I will say I watched every game Russ was in and it was disappointing. I couldn't tell you how many times the defense bailed him out and got them the W because it happened pretty much every week. Russ did play waaaay better than last season so I will give it to him but it's still not worth his price tag. I think he's going to ball out with the Steelers because he HAS to if he wants to keep his job after a year.

I'm a seahawks fan, and a Russ fan. his Denver yrs are behind him. Hackett couldn't coach a team. Sean Payton has no class. I hope Russ has good yrs in Pittsburgh. I hope he gets a good team around him and he's lights out again. Talented guy and he was incredible to watch.

This is why franchises need to always have a good GM coach tandem before they pull the trigger on major free agent QB signings. For them to give up so much for Russ, then bring in a coach who clearly doesn't have a good rapport with the QB they just mortgaged the future for is wild. That should have been priority #1 cohesiveness with Coach and Russ to elevate the team, not bring in some dude who wants to sand against the grain of the major moves you just made. I feel for the fans as a Lions fan I know all about what organizational disfunction looks like and what happened this season in Denver is beyond a trainwreck.
