The thing that people don't understand is that the cities in the Indian subcontinent are thousands of years old. They are not like New York and LA. Even European cities come nowhere close to the age of the cities in the subcontinent. London for example is about 2000 years old while Varanasi is about 5000 years old. The cities here have been destroyed and rebuilt several times by kingdoms with different belief systems, faiths and styles of administration. Parts of it are built magnificently and parts of it not so much. It is chaotic. Also, India has the world' largest arable land area because of which it has always been a cradle for the human population. Aleppo, Damascus and many Chinese cities are also old but the thing is they weren't colonised. Colonisation brought India's GDP share from 24% to less than 3% in just about 200 years. Mere survival for the masses was a struggle, still, we managed to cling to our roots. You can feel the history and clout in the air despite all the 'filth' that is there. People say these cities are not for exploring the outside but your inside. But, I am confident that we will rebuild and 'clean' our cities while preserving all their history and culture so that people from all around the world come and see our rich heritage in awe.

if you want to visit the most pristine beaches and want to avoid crowds you should go to Andaman & Nicobar Islands in India.

North India is what foriegners think of India(both in good and bad ways haha) South India is beautiful too, with beautiful beaches and clean cities But North East is something else. It is completely different from any part of India. There are forests, jungles, lush greenery everywhere. Also it is the place where India's big 5 are found together(rhino, elephant, water buffalo, bison and tiger). It is the wildlife paradise of India. Also Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It looks pristine. Like Goa×100. When I visited there, there were an elder Russian couple and they said,"It feels like a trip to Australia but at half price"
