You won’t love russia, I can promise you that. I studied and worked in russia both in the USSR and in the Russian Federation. People are desperate and very worried about the future under the ‘president’ Putin. They are not stupid, and they understand very well what the reality of the situation of russia is today. Only the kleptocracy of the corrupt leaders who has yachts and castles are happy in russia. And now they are angry and worried too. Most people outside the big cities live in poverty and shame. Alcohol abuse is very common. Russia is a desperate society with a dark future. Everything else is a lie. In fact, the whole of russia is build on a lie.

Owning a large house is something that alot of westerns used to do or strive for. But that has changed, it is now a smaller home but with very luxurious items in it. Large homes are just so much more work and if you are single like you are than it is just waste of space.....you gotta heat and clean all that. Kitchens and bathrooms are the biggest areas in homes where money is spent, next is the master bedroom and so on.

Russian traditional cuisine is actually very similar to Scandinavian. Lots of pickled preserves for the winter like pickled cucumbers, tomato, cabbage and pickled mushrooms. Backed things are mostly of the yeasted variety, with berries and fruit fillings. Barbecue is also popular, called shashlyk. Russians mostly eat chicken and pork, beef is not as popular as in the West cause cows are expensive to keep in the winter and so beef is also more expensive.

Russia is a land of contrast because people were not allowed to build decent houses in the USSR. In the RSFSR, one family could own only a 50 sq.m. house and it was really hard to find almost any building materials. It is going to take some time to replace the old houses and build some infrastructure. P.S. You can build houses on "personal subsidiary plots" as well. Those can be used to build a home or a small farm or even both.

Thank you Sam for the video. Would you please be sure to cover the laws about what kind of properties one can buy at each stage of getting residential statuses. Like the fact that a person who doesn't have citizenship can only purchase small plots of land with a home. They can not buy a farm only lease land. Things of this nature are very important to know when considering what we can and can not buy. That also includes dachas. I can not buy a datcha😢. There are many that I love and would buy, but they are not registered and therefore I can not be registered in my own home. So, if you can research these laws and know all the INS and outs, that is most important part of knowing what we can purchase. Thanks again for your content!

Thanks for your feedback. I’ve said about land size in an earlier video about building a house in Russia. Really it’s all on an individual basis. It depends on the land that the dacha is built on. Also, you can set up a business and the business can purchase the farm and you can therefore live on the land. They are all so individual. That’s why I made the site, so people can contact me with individual questions and can point them in the right direction.

At first, one should come to Russia as a worker or a student or a guest (tourist). From each stage one can move in the direction of getting residency (temporary, permanent) or a Foreigner's residency permit. Just be ready to rent an appartment first, or get friends or relatives that would invite or help with this. There are also hostels and campuses. And prepare yourself specifically for residency tests *to get a Student visa u don't have to enter the University, there are Language schools related to University that teach Russian language, some prepare for residency tests.

Sam, it's nice that you featured the Soviet built apartment to rent. You can find some awesome bargains for rent in both Russia and Belarus. I rent a 1 bed apartment in the centre of Minsk for $300 a month. Try that in Dublin, LOL. When I was last in Russia in 2019, I was offered a 2 bed in Baltisk, Kaliningrad Oblast for $120 a month (for holiday rental of course). I never went back because of Covid but hope to someday. Nice part of the world.

Sam, privet! There is The list of the most needed professions that Russia needs in 2024, that can obtain A FOREIGNER'S RESIDENCY PERMIT. An immigrant lawyer in Russia can get a quota for residency for representatives of these professions in some of the regions (depending on where they need this professional). Or one can come on working visa and apply for Foreigner's residency permit Main thing is Russian language (tests). Because, as one applies for FRP - ВНЖ, he has to pass the tests.
@SamsRussianAdventures
@SamsRussianAdventures 25 күн бұрын
I had no idea that they could go immediately to ВНЖ. I thought that was only for HQS visas. It’s interesting that things are changing all the time. When I did it I had to have temporary residency first. I pass anyone with questions to an immigration lawyer, as there seems to be so many variants these days.

@@SamsRussianAdventures As far as I understand: - Student visa at a Language school - applying for residency (temporary, permanent,), tests twice, and finally applying for citizenship. - Working visa - applying for Foreigner's residency permit (if your profession is from The list of the most needed Professions in Russia 2024), if not u can apply for temporary residency (*watch the previouse item) - tests - wait for several years (about 5) and after that one can apply for citizenship. Cart of Migrant 2024 is being tested now. If u came with this card (and with a purpose of coming) u should leave with this card. And u can stay in Russia with this card only if one applies for residency or a Foreigner's residency permit till the time u get this permition. With this Migrant card one can stay on extended working visas only if they are "High qualified specialists" with income more than a million rubles a year. Because of middleasian working migrants, law in this field has become stricter. At the same time a Programm for foreigners resettlement is being created...

Sam have you ever considered getting a government grant to create a service to help westerners come to Russia? Currently most of migrations to RF are historically from the former USSR countries. However, there is a great potential in welcoming people from Europe and North America - from improving demographics, to historical & cultural aspect as many Europeans used to live and work in Russia. For example Vitus Jonassen Bering (Bering straight) alos known as Ivan Ivanovich Bering, or one of the greatest minds in mathematics Leonhard Euler. There are many more examples. Another aspect is bringing investments and expertise with them. I am not familiar with the immigration policies, but perhaps there should be an investment class, a specialist class and a laborer class. An NGO that can represent and assist westerners could be an interesting opportunity

Hey Sam, I hope that you are doing well and thank you for your wonderful content. I want to add regarding the way to get Russian short-term, long-term recidency plus Russian citizenship. There are those two options to apply which you mentioned, but there are also some other ways which are: - By passing the Russian Language test which makes you qualified to apply for the short-term residency. ( Short term: which is a stamp which the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia put in your passport) - By having a Russian higher education diploma with honours (Red Diploma), Bachelor, Masters or PhD. Your degree must be issued or completed by the Russian Governmental (State) University. Using your Red Diploma, you can apply for Permanent residency (long-term). (Long ter residency: is a blue passport which is like a green-card of the United States.) - While you are studing in the Russain Governmental (State) Universities, you can apply for the shrt term residency and when you complete your degree, you can apply for long or Permanent residency. I hope the information was helpful for you guys. Cheers!

A lot of people don't realize how multinational Russia is and how diverse the cultures are from the Republic of Karelia to Kamchatka Krai to the North Caucasus Republics to the Nenets Autonomous Okrug to the Republic of Khakassia. Not sure how you could pull this off logistically unless you found a local chef that could make various dishes from across the country? Thank you for the consideration. Blessings.

There's a law in Russia that makes it illegal to use crypto for payments. And on and on and on. Bank policies, bank reporting, ad nauseum. Sam, how difficult is it to integrate in Russian society if you don't know the Russian language?
@SamsRussianAdventures
@SamsRussianAdventures 25 күн бұрын
It will just take time. You’ll build up a base of friends. If you see most KZfaqrs have a Russian wife, which will help of course!

I am American with a wife and two youngsters. How do I get a Russian Visa for my family to live in vladivostok
@Enclave7777
@Enclave7777 25 күн бұрын
At first i would recomend you to get a tourist visa an come here for a week or two just to see it with your own eyes and then just go to russian embassy in US and there you can get consultation on what you need to do to get residential visa. As far as I know Russian embassy works as usial in US unlike US in Russia, we can't get US visa (any kind) direct in US embassy in Russia.

Residential visa is available in Russian Embassy, but one has to find a job in Russia during 30 days according to this visa otherwise he has to leave Russia. U'd better check The list of the most needed professions in Russia 2024 that will allow u to apply for a Foreigner's residency permit after 6 months of being employed in Russia. Your employer has to pay taxes and social fees during these 6 months. Or a Student visa in a Language school related to University. A Programm for foreigners resettlment to Russia 2024, but it is not ready yet. Consult the immigrant lawyers.
