First of all thanks for great job you do for players, like me. I think in this video there are two mistakes: At point 13:16 Jane play her last worker on an action space already occupied by a worker. At page 5 of the rules book, in the chapter “General: play a turn” you can read: “You must choose an unoccupied actions space” (i.e. one that is not already occupied by workers). At point 16:20 As you can read at page 18 of the rules book, chapter “Scoring phase”, “A track scores points for the space it occupies and all empty spaces behind it. These empty spaces count as being by tracks of the same color (=virtual tracks)”. Only the empty spaces count as being by tracks of the same color. Infact, at the end of the page there is an example about “Step by step scoring of Tran-Siberian”, and according to that, I think you should scoring of 8 points, not 16. Starting from here you should count points In a different way, I guess.

Thanks for your video, I bought the game yesterday and it was really useful for understanding the rules. Maybe someone already told you before (I'm not reading all the comments), but "Note: You may not place a worker on the action space under your current position in the turn order, nor may you occupy both turn order action spaces". I've seen you made a lot chooses trying to "preserving" the first player position, that, if I correctly understood, is not possible.

I made the exact same mistake scoring track in my first game. Wasn't until I re-read the rules that I understood you only score different coloured track until you meet the next colour along.

Yep, virtual tracks for scoring are only the empty tracks up to the next upgraded track.

It's cute that you go "I was a Dummkopf or whatever Russian equivalent is" when it's German. Not at all hating, I like it =D

Rahdo... I think you kind of messed up on the "end of game" bonus cards. You kept referencing the +4 points per FACTORY card as if it were +4 points per Engineer. There is in fact a similar card that you were confusing it with which does give +6 per hired engineer at the end of the game. Obviously that was one of the 2 cards not in your deck of 8. Just thought you'd like to know...

Around 23:13 you play Jen's turn and take a doubler for her. You then take your turn and place your buck on your private engineer to move your industry up 1. When it is Jen's turn at 24:30 you decide to undo her doubler and instead end up taking the space to advance her black rail one which lands her on a ? and gets her to draw two cards. At 29:52 you take your turn again but you should have actually gone on to Jen's actual turn since those 6 minutes were spent un-doing her previous turn.

Around the 7:00 minute mark Jen (aka you) placed her worker on the engineer to advance 1 on the black rail and garnered 3 points. But, you changed your mind, took back the three points, but did not move your train back. You then advanced three instead, but actually advanced four.

And I love watching your videos but your math skills went way south in this one. :-)

At 30:20, it would have been better to use 1 coin to use the public engineer for hire, rather than spending 2 coins for the standard spot. It would have done the same thing, while saving you a coin.

I am very confused after seeing these videos. I was absolutely certain that you score your trains every turn, regardless, that everyone gets a single endgame scoring card, you have to have a train on the Trans-Sib express line before you can allocate ones to the other lines and that you can't have 2 trains of the same number. One thing I am certain of is the black worker. Any time you use him, it doesn't matter where, you always get the bonus black rail bonus. Say you use him to move your brown rail 1 space, you will also get to increase your black rail by 1. I'm not entirely sure if it is the differences between 2p and 3/4p (how I played my 3 games) but I had someone score a total of 650 points. They also mentioned a theoretical maximum amount of points being 699 points, if you do everything perfectly. Granted it's been a few months. Anyone, please correct me :p. We would have been playing it wrong all along. (I'll see if I can read through the manual tomorrow evening)

At 29:56 looks like you forgot to advance your grey, and give yourself the points for using that engineer,

Why are you not using the bonus cards at the beginning of each turn? The one where second player gets a free item.

Has anyone figured out exactly how this 2 player game play rule is played? " A player may place on a worker on his current turn order action space." From what I'm seeing, you're not placing workers on action spaces that are already taken, and yet the rules state that you should be able to... or am I reading this wrong??

Rahdo, I enjoy your walkthroughs, but I find your choices for Jen very frustrating. Ten minutes in you have her continually building rail that she can not score rather than grabbing a cheap train that pays back her investment in silver. If I were Jen, I also wouldn't have let you have the silver rail engineer. Since id already moved up so much black, Id let you take the black rail engineer instead.

Richard... 31:24 - 4 points for every Engineer? That's a 4 points for every "Factory" bonus, not Engineer. Well at least the icon is a Factory. You have called it an Engineer bonus since the beginning of Jen's turn (27:12) when you were choosing her bonuses. Since you were pushing factories I don't know why you kept reading it wrong? I still think you chose the right one since the most points the "Factory" tile could get you is 5 factories X 4 = 20.
