Our Wal-Mart in NW Tennessee was open 24/7 until Covid hit. After things returned to pretty much normal, it now closes at 10:00 PM and reopens at 6:00 AM. I think the main reason is they can't get employees.

Our Tesce Extra was open 24 hours, but they stopped that due to a lack of customers, i called in at 1am one night for some bread, the shelves were empty, a shelf stacker said that they have reduced the amount on the shelves, within hours of filling the shelf it is empty again. Empty shelves are now a common sight, if you try to shop after 5pm you won't get much.

Supermarkets that are open 24/7 currently only exist in poorly developed countries where the rights of employees are not taken seriously and unions do not exist or do not care about employees' right to vacation, rest and days off. Such working hours are signs of an undeveloped country. No developed country has supermarkets that work 24/7.

I worked in US Supermarkets on the night shift for years, and this Russian "Superstore" is VERY impressive (and the prices are cheaper than the USA lol)! I never saw a food store with an "upstairs" before! And the selection of goods is astonishing (how times have changed)! Thank you, friend, for your feedback. I myself was born in Moscow and have been living in it for 58 years, I have never been to such a supermarket and probably won't, because I personally have enough of everything that is sold in the next house. But guests will probably be interested to know that no one in Russia is hungry and can afford (at least sometimes) the most luxurious food that they once dreamed of. Times are changing. God does not want people to suffer constantly, so everything is constantly changing, and life experience gives us an understanding that all these are temporary trials for us. We must learn to live in peace with everyone and, above all, with ourselves.

It's not correct to compare them. Walmart is similar to Auchan, Lenta, Okey. They are present in every city from 300.000 in Russia (maybe). Tvoy Dom can be compared to some places in densely populated East or West Coast, not average American Walmart. Also, in US it's not typical to have vast home decor stores. People buy more and more on Amazon, which by the way offers more variety than Russian online stores and was very popular in Russia before sanctions. As for the size, that's quite typical, because Russian people are very limited in time which they can spend on redecoration and it's better to buy everything in one place. Even in our provincial Novosibirsk, apart from closed Ikea, and 2 standard Leroy Merlens, we have 70000 and 50000 sq. m furniture and home decor stores

We travel 30 minutes to a Walmart a town or two over for less expensive groceries. I lived in San Diego for a decade way back in the 20th century (the 80's). They had massive outdoor malls that would rival the choice of this superstore and I recall a 4 story indoor mall, but the indoor malls were mostly speciality stores with supermarkets and Sears, and Pennys as part of the mall. It was rarely cold, and never snowed in San Diego. Here it snows on occasion. I'm sure Moscow has a bit more snow than I would care to deal with, wimpy US citizen that I am. 🥶

In Canada flour comes in many weights, from 10 kg to 1 kg. 10 kg costs about $8 US and 1 kg about $1.80 US.

Thank you for showing us all these different stores. I would like to go to this store and buy us some new dinnerware that we need. But please Russel you have to stop showing Milka chocolate that I love, but to find me some seems hopeless 😔. I have actually been on hunt for it around where I live in Sweden since your vid from Pyaterochka, but it is nowhere to be seen. I even contacted Mondelez. They directed me to Marabous webbpage since it is them that distributes Mondelez chocolate here. And I couldn't find any info about Milka on Marabous webbpage. I guess Marabou do not want that competition.

We prefer to order grocery in sbermarket, it's convenient the delivery is free. I have 4 children and have no time for offline shopping, so I shop online for groceries, clothes, shoes and other items. It saves a lot of time and money.
