In my local supermarket there is graffiti, the handles to the doors are sticky, it smells of urine, and there is usually syringes and other drug paraphernalia. Oftentimes people get robbed by maniacs with knives. It's complete mayhem here in America. I lived in Detroit, New York, San Francisco, LA and it's all the same everywhere I go. Complete mayhem. This country is crumbling and it's time to go to Russia I think. I want to just live in a normal nation that observes basic Christian values and whose society is based on family values.

Five months ago Rebel News sent a correspondent to Moscow. Moscow grocery stores were well stocked, no effect of the sanctions. But everything was cheaper than where I'm from in Toronto. At the time a pound of ground beef was avg $5.79 CDN in Toronto. In Moscow, a pound of ground beef was $2.78 CDN. Even when PPP is factored, Russians got more bang for the buck
@tdrs1765
@tdrs1765 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, but this is bs. Surely you will find some items that are really damn cheap in Russia, 1. would be strange if a food production country had high prices on groceries (however, Russian history shows that famine is not rare), 2. not PPP-cleared 3. you cannot even say what the Russian price is in other currencies, as the ruble is not traded freely and converted at mkts. And the ruble falling, groceries in Russia would get cheaper every day, having the same or even higher prices. 😵‍💫 4. Russians cannot easily order abroad. Western Europeans e.g. do this quite often, to get better prices
@Mullet-ZubazPants
@Mullet-ZubazPants Жыл бұрын
@@tdrs1765 Not PPP cleared? That ground beef was double the cost in Toronto. A Canadian doesn't make double the income of a Russian. There are several different PPP figures concerning income, but none of them give a figure of double what a Russian makes

@@Mullet-ZubazPants ppp is artificial and based on a certain basket of similar products. ‚Not real at all’ is maybe too severe as a judgement, but at least it’s not realistic. I have no idea about your beef (I don’t eat meat and only hope you pay a lot gor every single bite), but a Canadian has his income and/or social welfare a Russian can only dream of. Plus, he can exchange his dollars freely to any other currency and do business or shopping wherever he pleases. A Russian can’t. At least not easily. He cannot even leave the country and if drafted, he has to buy his own equipment. If he manages. If not, he goes without. I mean what PPP.

Very large hypermarkets can be found in Moscow much closer to its center. For example, not far from Gagarin Square, this is the middle of Leninsky Prospekt, there is a very large shopping mall "Gagarinsky" (Vavilov street, 3, 500 meters from "Ploschad' Gagarina" metro station (Moscow Central Ring line)) which has a huge Auchan hypermarket. Information about other products of the week is in the booklet that you saw at the entrance and in the application. In addition, there are individual discounts on my customer card registered in the application. I really miss the supermarkets of Europe and the USA after my expat years. Australia is a very nice country, but commercially it is extremely low-effort. Most woollies and coles have awful selection, chronic supply issues in many regions and hours barely better than a bank. Also stuff like baked goods and other things that used to and should be made on site are now trucked in. At least they are cheap. But still annoying that even far regional Russia has better supermarkets. 😅
