Russell, make a video about digital services in Russia, about phone apps, where you can transfer money to any account in a couple of movements (a quick payment system), pay for a communal room, transfer money to a friend or for the services of a worker. About the portal "public services" where you can perform almost any actions related to the state, from processing any documents, to paying taxes and making an appointment with a doctor. About multifunctional centers, where in one place at home you can change your passport, residence permit, register real estate, request any documents from the state. About bank applications in which you can stop at a gas station and refuel and pay without leaving the car.

@@capitainebonhomme1609 Keep in mind that expenses and taxes are a lot lower in Russia Also, do not forget, income tax in Russia is only 13%, free health care and education, utility bills for an apartment, including everything are about $100, in small towns half as much, cheap public transport, energy, internet, taxi, services, etc. The purchasing power of the ruble according to the international monetary fund is three times the dollar, so multiply the salaries by three. In small towns, salaries are lower than in Moscow and other megacities, but life there is much cheaper. Also in the US, you can't compare salaries in New York, Washington, and Los Angeles with towns in Kentucky, Mississippi, or South Dakota... In reality, the average income is even higher, 'cause "grey incomes" cannot be taken into account in the statistics. In Russia (I'm not saying it's good) they pay even less taxes. According to statistics, about 25% of wages are still in the "grey zone", that is, they are not taxed at all. Thus, the average Russian actually gives the state only 9.75% of his earnings. But it is not correct to talk about income, "forgetting" to mention expenses, level of prices, free medical care, social guarantees, PPP etc. If not to talk about this, the level of salary does not say anything at all. E.g. Purchasing Power Parity, PPP. You need to multiply the market exchange rate of the national currency by the PPP coefficient for the given country. For example: in Russia 2,000 USD * 3 (calculated for Russia by IMF) = 6,000 USD in the US.a by IMF) = 6,000 USD in the US.

This is a comparably awesome video. I can almost arrive in Russia and hit the ground running knowing where to go to and where to shop and know how much Im expected to spend when Im in Moscow thanks to you. As for comparisons your food prices are actually cheaper than here in Brisbane. Milk, Eggs, flour, sugar, and bread is way cheaper than in Brisbane. Alcohol however is slightly dearer than in Australia. So much for the Sanctions...🤣

Bananas are cheaper in Sverdlovskaya than in Brisbane, even though we lie between the two biggest banana growing areas in Australia. They get Ecuadorean bananas. If we're lucky, we can get green bananas, which I've taught the eldest daughter to cook with chicken and coconut creme. A good loaf of rye bread is 40₽ compared to $4.90 at Woolies. Alcohol in Australia is way dearer than in Russia.I can buy a good Chardonnay for about 250₽. Just remember "Moscow is not Russia", wages and prices are far higher in Moscow. Out in "real" Russia, wages are much lower, but so are prices. My eldest daughter's apartment cost 1 million ₽, ten years ago. It was designed and built by German POWs in 1948. Almost all of those workers remained in town and married local women and added their Russified names to the town. Most food is locally derived, and far cheaper than in Moscow. However, wages are much lower. Exotics like bananas and kiwifruit, are still affordable. You need to look at the whole. Wages are lower, but so are housing prices and utilities. Russian taxes are very low. Payments to families are high. When my granddaughters were born, I would walk to the place where food was provided for mothers and children, a weeks supply for free. I can't think of the Russian word for this place. Milk, keffir, youghurt, other products depending on the age of the child. All FREE!

Thank you so much for your videos. I live in a smaller city in Canada. I have never seen shopping centres as large as the ones you've shown. I can't really compare our life here to Russia but as far as shopping is concerned, I was really impressed with the variety and prices of food as well as the size of the shopping malls. I suppose the prices are more or less geared to the wages for the most part. It just goes to show you that people can adjust their shopping to alternatives with sanctions in place. Russel i heard you mention that you have been living in Moscow for over 9 years . I'm curious why you left Australia for Russia .Thanks again.

The salary is really small compared to other countries, the minimum wage with higher education is 150,000 rubles (~ $ 1,700). But spending on taxes is very small, and in fact, in order to feel comfortable, this money is enough. Since insurance for treatment is free, taxes on cars average 14000-40000 rubles (130-370 $) per year, depends on the horsepower in the car. Rent a one-room apartment in Moscow will be 40000-50000 rubles ($ 380-450) per month, and in other regions it is possible for $ 150 with a good repair and in the center. Also, all other services are either free or cost several times cheaper than in America.

Quality of food in Russia compare to what I buy in Britain is better. Russians eat healthier diets compare to a lot of people here, in the UK. Choice of food including local produce in Russia is much better as well. There are markets dotted all over the country. At those large/small markets you will find even better choice of fresh fruits and vegetables, greens, herbs, fresh meats, delicatessen etc. You may find that prices there are also lower compare to the prices at some supermarkets. In my opinion in Russia there is definitely more choice, better quality food and price range for pockets of all sizes.

@@user-nj7ru4rm7s I was referring to there not being many people in the supermarket, and if that was down to people not being able to afford to shop there 🤷 I don't watch mainstream TV or news in the UK, they lie to us. I watch videos like this to get a more realistic view on life in Russia. I wasnt trying to be insulting 🥰

I believe the reason the food is so much cheaper in Russia than in the USA is because they have gold back money which is just worth more than our money :( TY for sharing.
