I don’t know if Alexey will read this himself, but this video has helped me immensely. I always felt like my jab lacked power and nobody corrected my way of jabbing. The circular movement of the shoulder is like an epiphany for me, thank you for teaching us this technique and I will definitely incorporate it into my future trainings.

@@russianschoolofboxing4523 can u plz cover the Jack Dempsey falling step jab(it's like a power jab) instead of pushing off the rear leg u put ur weight in ur lead leg and lunge forward and land flatfooted with ur toes pointed directly to ur opponent. Read Jack Dempsey(he is used to a champion in the 1920s) championship fighting book,u can get it for free.

Well. This is boxing made scientific as it is supposed to be. Frolov is a brilliant trainer and teacher. Watching him demonstrates what boxing really is about. It is about angles, footwork, distances, balance and not about brawling. I was an amateur boxer myself and once had a chance to train with my brother in law who +30 years ago was Belarusian youth champion (at that time part of the Soviet Union) and stopped boxing when he was eighteen. When I trained with him I felt like a fire hydrant, stiff and clumsy, even though I boxed longer than he did and I was in better shape. It was amazing to see at what level these Soviet boxers were and are, respectively. They learn boxing from the basics.

This guy reminds me of my first coach the attention to detail and constant fine tuning to correct form , the back and forth communication with me asking questions to fully understand the instruction. It can take time to sink in but once it does and you see the improvement it's so rewarding for both coach and boxer. This is an example of what a boxer coach relationship looks like anything else is sub par in my opinion.

So Technical. Very few teach skills on such a technical level. I had some Bruce Lee students who taught me their stuff on a very technical level. Also one of Mike Tyson's Trainers, teaching me a little of the peek aboo style was extremely technical.

I've learned more from Alexey in my 11 years of boxing than I have from my own coaches... Of course I know many things about boxing but you can always improve, I'm working on perfecting my jab as I'm a rather unorthodox fighter and a lot of times I lead with my back hand rather than jab my way in...it works but I really want to use my jab more effectively... Thanks Alexey you are very good at explaining.

When i was tought the lesson on throwing while stalking, i was instructed to not throw a punch uless my feet are well planted.(just like here) However the only exception was jab, as you can sych your jeft hand with lead leg and punch while steping. This is comonly used by almost every boxer, why does Alexey instruct his lad not to do this? Is it just because this specific training routine? Can somenone please elaborate on that?
@lylemcdermott25662 жыл бұрын
It's the falling step concept, other coaches may have a different way of calling it, it's used to give more quickness and power into the jab. You kinda lift your leg and plant it but here he's following his target so he has to move forward and accompany with the lifting of the front leg.

@lifeiscreepingdeath3 жыл бұрын
If you're struggling to counter then you are probably slipping/rolling too far and giving yourself too much of a distance to cover with your counter punch! I used to do this when defending myself with a shoulder roll, I would rotate too far and my counter punch had to travel further. Countering and slipping is about small movements!
