The extending part of the truck is for hauling longer containers that stick out of the back of the truck. The folding up side rails are for easy access for storage compartments like binders/rope/chains/ etc. Cheers David!!

Great video! ;D The extending bumper at the back is that you can haul platforms and containers that are longer then the truck itself legally in germany. The rearmost part has to be a bumper like that so a car doesnt crash into/under the platform/container.

the rear is no underrun protection for longer containers. In Germany, this must always be extended as soon as you have loaded a container. the hydraulics are off so you don't damage it because you put down a container

We enjoy your videos and also the fact that you do not have to have your face in the camera all the time.

The truck that I drove also had a extendable lower bumper for when I had a long container on or when I had som long pipes of what ever I used to extend it because in the Faroe Island you can only have 70 cm of over hang in the rear or Max 3 meters from the furthest back axle, but if you extended the bumper you suddenly could drive legally with longer objects in the bed.

After seeing some of your video's (read almost all in binge watch), it might be a good idea to maken some ramps for the loading plateau. Saw some of the verhicles you where hauling almost fall off when unloading.. Keep up the good work, and may the algoritm be with you! greetz from Holland!

G'day mate. Just seeing the drame your going through here trying to prep your truck ready to paint [ the chassis ] chipping with the needle gun. Seeing you got it stripped back so far would it have been better to [soda] blast . The metal comes up great with no damage and the soda just dissolves in water and leaves a great ready to paint finish. I understand that you have the road salting problem which of course would add to your corrosion/ rust problem which means quite expensive industrial coatings. Maybe I have the wrong Idea , I don't know. It looks like you've done another great job anyway. Can't complain about your work mate you are bloody good at what you do.

Dinitrol 1000 + Dinitrol 4942 is good to use on all hard-to-reach places and layered joints. Dinitrol 1000 penetrates into places where ordinary paint can't, but water can. Dinitrol 4942 will prevent Dinitrol 1000 from washing out. I wish you much success in the fight against corrosion. He is a tough opponent.

I like the extendable rear bumper (across the pond referred to as a DOT bumper).

Nice video 😊😉👍🏻 The hydraulic bumper on the back muss you use, wenn you loadet longer container. On the road, you can have only max 1m longer load from end of your schassi, soo if you use longer container, you push the bumper with hydraulic to the back ,and than is no problem with police ,no problem with the leng of the truck, and no problem by the crush from the back. .. And i drive lot Sweden, maybe we see use somethimes 👍🏻 Best regard from Czech

Hyvaa paivaa , I hate rust and that needle gun is one of my favourite tools to combat it . The person that develops a cheap replacement for Salt will be rich quickly.

Trucks here don't have any side protection.A lot of people under coat their trucks and cars with undercoating .fluid film is the best I think .

På din man kan fälla ut kofångaren sett på andra container bilar om har en container som sticker ut för långt bra kunna skuta ut den så om en bil kör på bakifrån beter köra in i den en att bli halshuggen typ =)

Thought you would of rubbed down,and used a two pack primmer, before going over with the 2 pack black when dry go over with spray body wax .,as you live in such a harsh weather conditions.

I have no idea about this but basically the paint covering the rust makes it so that no oxygen comes in contact with it and so it doesn’t spread any further?

You should have applied some rust converter to the rusty metal before you painted it. Stops it coming back again.

God i hate rust ,i just buy a Mercedes Unimog i got very lucky because it the latest model and a transportation company just got bankrupt so the trucks fleet got sold into action so nobody want it the Unimog it 4 wheels steering version something exotic plenty of accessories the price start at 200 000€ and because no one buy it i got it for 30 000 €......he he he 🤣 it universal for me for work and camping because i can't remove the dump bed and replace it with a cabin ,i can't install in front a hidraulic winch for Off Road adventures, plenty of advantages i modified it to work with Propane as well for more cheap fuel not mention burn more clean no need to change that often the filters yeah......in your case i would prefer a military truck something with 4 wheel drive !
