Hi. I find if i apply phosphoric acid based concoctions they dry but then in dewy mornings it goes soggy or disolves. I was hoping it sets hard like paint.

how come you didn't also brush on the other product, that'd help it penetrate in stead of dripping off the surface.

I always use both- remover then converter for any that is left, and gel is not uncommon at all.

The Red stain on a concrete surface is actually not the concrete rusting. It is an indication that the steel inside the concrete is rusting and the rust color is migrating out to the surface.

I have been exploring rust treatments and I have found that all the popular acids (hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and white venegar) for rust removal leave a brown rusty looking residue even though I have washed it before drying. does action gel do this as well?

So how much for a 1 litre bottle? This isn't the only gel based rust remover, there's another one I found in Bunnings. The problem we have here is all these products use phosphoric acid, yet some come as low as $15 for 2 litres and another for $54 for two 1 litre bottles, same shit, bigger mark up. So where does yours fit in?

Totally removed?You must need glasses because I could still see rust there.It didn't do anything inside the pitting.Even wire brushing doesn't get in the pitting.After You wire brush look really close in the pits and you will notice the wire brush just glazes the rust that is deep in the pits.The only way to get rid of all the rust is sand blasting or replacing.But even sand blasting won't get it all.There is almost always places that you can miss.The only way is to replace metal,prime with an etching primer,than prime with an epoxy primer.After that use a high quality paint that is thick so it gives a little barrier in case something hits it.You don't want a paint that is too hard though because if something does hit it a hard paint will chip easier.I have been dealing with rust for 35yrs.Thats how long I have been doing bodywork in a state that gets a lot of snow and we are on the coast where there are a lot of people that commercial fish,so their vehicles are in and around salt water.

I am not trying to knock anyone's product but these things that say they neutralize rust.No.They may neutralize the rust on top but they do nothing to the rust that is deeper and covered over.There is no easy,fast way to eradicate rust.If you can get rid of the majority and can seal it good enough to keep any oxygen from getting to it,you can slow it down but eventually it will come back.There is a reason they call it metal cancer,because any overlooked step and it will return and when it does it has done twice as much damage.

Do rust convertors make the rust solidify? If you covered a badly rusted car in it would it make the rusted parts as hard as the steel?

Rusty roofing nails will leave a rust stain on paint as it runs down the wall, I see this all the time as I'm a painter and a little ajax and water on the paint and it comes off without any effort, no need to buy these types of chemicals just for cleaning house paint.

They used the cheap rust converter get G503 RCMP (Rust converter metal primer) and it brushes on milky white and completely changes it. Look at the video by watsons wagons and see the truth.

If this product worked as well as seen in this video, sandblasting would be less common.The old rust that forms near the sea is very tenacious and cannot be easily removed even with an angle grinder and the silicon carbide disc that is specific for these jobs.Maybe you can dissolve the rust from small objects.Perhaps the only product that can going well and saving time and effort is the Owatrol.

I paused at 2:00 to make this comment; The rust converters I've seen demoed says it needs to be shaken up and brushed on (it's milky when applied). If done correctly it will turn black (if not it wasn't shaken).

What is the negative effect/s if you put too much of rust converter ? What domaines are rust removers NOT allowed in steel construction ? Pity this video does not answer these questions as it could have then been taken seriously. Simply stating things isn't enough and is illegal in some states if you want to compare products. If you want to compare products, then at least have the decency to say where the others fail, not just that they are not as good as your product.
