What is rustic luxury and why would we think it would be the next big thing after farmhouse? Rustic luxury has always been around and isn’t necessarily a new thing, but it originates from the idea of taking a luxurious lifestyle out to the countryside and putting it into a rustic setting. Now it doesn’t have to take place in the countryside, and can absolutely happen in the city or the suburbs. This style can be taken anywhere and in any location and that’s what’s so fun about it and one of the things that is attracting so may people to it.

I live in a forest, not on a farm. I hope to blend my home in to the surrounding woods. Furniture is my challenge really. I found beautiful lighting and cabinet pulls. The videos and images from my searches are for wealthy people in gigantic homes. As a single retiree in under 1500 sq feet. How about a middle class America home episode?

I like the idea of mixing styles, materials, textures but it takes a good eye doing this. One must take into account the structure of the house and lots of trial and errors. It works for me because I could bring in the old and the new and select pieces of furniture and decor that I really love. Thank you!

that's a great question, and the answer is no. You can use different stain colors throughout the house, they don't have to match. but you still need to be careful to make sure they compliment each other. Meaning, don't use a really light color on the ceiling, and dark on the floors, but have them somewhat in the same color range.

I am looking for an all rustic interior look for my log home being built now. What your showing is a mix of modernism and rustic. The slightest piece of modernism ruins the rustic portion.

You are so wrong about rustic. Rustic does not evolve around modernistic but around simple, older home design. I live in the country and have lived in forested regions. And none of what you've shown are ideas that we would consider Rustic. These are Californian or New York City ideas of what Rustic should look like. Rustic by definition from Merriam-Webster Dictionary is as follows: 1: of, relating to, or suitable for the country : RURAL//rustic rolling farmland 2a: made of the rough limbs of trees//rustic furniture b: finished by rusticating//a rustic joint in masonry 3a: characteristic of or resembling country people b: lacking in social graces or polish 4: appropriate to the country (as in plainness or sturdiness) Again, what you've shown is nothing of the sort. I do not like your definition and rendering. 🤢🤢🤢
