Hello my Beautiful People! Welcome back to another late night in my studio! Ive been having a wonderful time exploring texture in my art lately, especially using this Lightweight Spackling and a palette knife! It has such a great texture, like fluffy cake frosting. Its a lot of fun to play with! I made this piece last week and now that its dry its time to add some color to it. Come sit back and relax and watch this pretty rustic flower come to life..
I'm using Fast N Final Lightweight Spackling

Im really happy with all the colors I used, but I would like to note that the Transparent Red Iron Oxide was not showing up as much as I wanted because of the transparency. An opaque paint will show color more.

I really love this. I have seen where actual paint has been layered up and used, but I really like the idea of putting down spackling and then painting that vs trying to layer actual paint (with medium mixed in) to build up layers. I know both can have similar effects at the end, but this spackling method really appeals to me more! Thanks Mina, gorgeous result!

Love the rough and rustic look of the piece! Flowers are lovely and and the texture of the whole piece is wonderful! This piece would be beautiful even for a sight impaired person, so tactile! Missed your fun and joyful voice but this was so soothing and relaxing to watch!

Flash, changing, pearl on a very old piece of wood. I’ve actually done something like that myself. There is definitely old wood around here. And think it’s very enjoyable doing something different. Helps my juices flowing. ENJOY🤗
