In this video we look at a 2003 Pontiac Vibe and a 1989 Chevy Pick Up C/K series GMT400), both of which got a $300 Rustomeum paint job. We used Tremclad, which is rust-oleum, but in Canada it is branded as Tremclad. Either way, this is a oil based enamel rust paint. For the Vibe we mixed two different blues to get the desired blue we were going for. The Yellow was off the shelf and not mixed with any other color. The paint was mixed 50/50 with reducer and a blob of hardener. Two coats of color, then 12 hours to partially cure, then 3 coats of automotive clear coat. We used a brand called Rouge for our clear coat. The end result was fantastic. If we had just used Rustoleum paint without the clear coat it would have gone foggy and chalky by now. We had a bunch of people asking how does it hold up and this video is to show what results we have and how the paint looks so far. We hope you enjoyed the video and consider subscribing!
We have another project coming out next week so keep an eye out for that!
