Restorers nowadays are lazy. They dont do mirror finish because it’s lengthy and time consuming so they come up with excuses like we dont want to remove material or we want to keep the old look 😂😂

Nicely done. The sand blasting is one of the coolest things...one step makes it almost brand new again. So satisfying to watch. Can't imagine how it feels to actually do it. Your work is art and so relaxing. Thank you! God bless from Black Hills of South Dakota.
@CatalystRestorations
@CatalystRestorations 2 жыл бұрын
@@DrparthS Okay, I'll bite. There are plenty of restorers who "still" do mirror finishes on things. It all depends on the item being restored. If you have a cutting blade with severe pits on both sides removing enough material on both sides to remove all pits could reduce the blade's thickness by 50%+, severely reducing its integrity in the process. It's a very real reason and not because someone is necessarily lazy, but because you have ridiculous expectations of what's 'required' for a restoration to be considered good enough for you. When you start your own restoration channel with mirror finish everything I'll be your first subscriber.

I like that you try to save as many of the original pieces as possible, some antique "restoration" videos replace 90% of the original item even when its not needed.

I know nothing about this, so please don't take this seriously, but I found it funny that the stuff used to fill in the holes and cracks at 4:30 looked kinda like peanut butter 😂

Such an awesome channel glad to be subscribed! I love a nice quiet restoration. I get all the informational, wholesome content without hearing “what’s up guys welcome to another episode of xxxxx make sure to like and subscribe, turn your notifications on, follow me on twitch….(and other corny nonsense followed by endless talking)….” Awesome job on another project! Very impressive craftsmanship

Beautiful restoration! The device seemed to have more of a chopping action than slicing, but when you demonstrated the finished piece it was easy to see that it was for heartier, denser loaves of bread, a slice or two of which you take on an all-day walk in the hills. Thanks.
