I love how you use each of the prod it's at the end. Showing how they worked. Some it's straightforward some you have to see it to understand its mechanisms.

How do you make the decision whether or not to "Hot blue" or "cold blue" or "no blue" something and why? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? I'd never even heard of the concept before I somehow got addicted to restoration videos.

Cold blue is faster and only hardens/colors a superficial layer. Hot bluing hardens deep into the metal - you can't easily sand/scrape it away. The reason he used cold bluing for the blades was because they'll need to be sharpened occasionally - hot bluing would make that really difficult.

Bluing also helps to prevent rusting!

L'acier de ces anciens outils est généralement de meilleure qualité que ce qu'ils proposent à la vente actuellement. Après restauration et si ces ciseaux sont bien entretenus, ils peuvent durer toute une vie !

Another nice resto you guys. I would've restored them to almost new condition. Like polishing the shearing blades to an almost mirror like shine. Flattening the sharpened edges and re-sharpening them with sharpening stones. Re-build the handles with some hard white oak wood. Staining them in a natural type finish, or a golden oak finish. Polishing the bolt and other metal pieces that attach the shearing blades. That's just me. You guys go for a more vintage/antique look, and I understand. Some people like that.
