IFR flight in a Cirrus SR22. Hear ATC calls and see inside a busy cockpit avoiding traffic, flying an ILS approach at Avalon Airport, then an RNAV approach at Warrnambool Airport before flying back to Moorabbin. Hear IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) radio calls and watch some of my procedures.
Aircraft is VH-EYZ a Cirrus SR22 flying from Moorabbin Airport (YMMB) to Avalon Airport (YMAV), Warrnambool Airport (YWBL) and returning to Moorabbin under the Instrument Flight Rules.

Thanks for the inspiring videos Stefan! I started my PPL this year and went solo today for the first time :) Whenever I'm feeling discouraged I always check out your videos and they help to pick me back up again! Great to see you back in the air again. Nice hair by the way ;) You're now beyond what I like to call the "mushroom phase", next stop: metalhead!

It's the windiest, most gusty, most undesired place to fly to 😂 Hopefully not much longer until you can fly north again 🤞 Keep the videos coming in the meantime though, I'm happy to kick in a few bucks for fuel, but you don't have an Applaud button 🤔

Hello Stefan! Love the channel! Shout out from the United States. Lol I also need a PIC and I’ve got the chance to do it because of the pandemic :( I feel like the FAA regulations are some what similar to Australia, with few exception like using supplemental oxygen which you guys are above 10k. Love to learn more about Australia regulations for GA pilot. Does the airport charge you any landing fees? What are the operational cost, like fuel, hanger, insurance and etc. Would be nice if you can make a video out of it!

Can you elim5 , Why did you do a. missed approach ?
@StefanDrury
@StefanDrury 3 жыл бұрын
If you're doing an instrument approach for real, like in clouds, and you get to the minimum altitude and still can't see the runway, you're not allowed to continue to descend and have to fly the "missed approach" (usually a climb and sometimes a turn to a new waypoint). So I was practising that, pretending it was a bad weather day.

How does the fuel venting work
@StefanDrury
@StefanDrury 3 жыл бұрын
As I transitioned from hand flying to autopilot the balance of the rudder was a bit off, so we were side slipping a little and the Cirrus will vent fuel when that happens.
