And who gives up a $2 bill these days? That part was fairly obviously staged. Also knowing the vintage guitar community, there's almost a mania for keeping original parts, so I've got to imagine that neck wouldn't be so easily junked. Seems like I'm one of quite a few who clicked on the video just to call it out.

When you sand a radius into a neck with a radius sanding block, you don’t want to wrap the sandpaper around the sides of the block because it changes the radius of the final piece due to the sandpaper bending at the edges. You want to glue the sandpaper to the bottom of the block. This will give you a much better radius on the neck. When you are dealing with a small radius like 7.25, changing it the tiniest bit can drastically change the final radius. And you can end up with uneven surfaces where the radius changes randomly. Now I know this is just a KZfaq restoration, but if you ever do this for a customer or for your own guitar that you mean to play regularly, use glue.

Alright, first...Much respect for taking this on. I hate when people do not first give credit where it is due and I want to be clear that you have great skills. Now, just because you put a fender neck on an old strat style body does not make it a Fender Strat. Second...if you are going to all this trouble to completely refurbish this old guitar then please put another coat of pain on there and do the wet sand to get rid of the orange peel.

I understand perfectly well that the channel was not created for this, but if there is no neck, then there is no guitar. I understand that this is all for the sake of clarity, but after removing the neck, it is no longer the guitar it was before the repair. And I saw that the vulture was in terrible condition. You just have to admit that he's dead. and I consider it necrophilia. BUT I LIKE ALL THE OTHER VIDEOS (unfortunately, you just can't resurrect a tree).

It’s a judgment call at the time you pull the frets out of a maple fretboard. If you get to much tear out when removing the fret ( like this guys did) you really don’t have a choice but to do a fretboard refinish. However I don’t usually go back on with an oil finish. Lacquer or poly finish will hold up better.

The soldering looked sloppy. You don't glue the whole surface under the nut. He never crowned the frets after leveling them. You can see the flat spots on the frets. It doesn't show if he sanded a fall away into the frets. He didn't "tie" in the strings on the machine head posts. Don't know if he filed the nut for the proper string height. Don't know if he intonated the guitar. Glad he is not working on mine. Although I do my own work, so I know mine are done right.

@@patrickshannon4516 I'm embarrassed to call you a fellow Irishman. The title clearly says "Fender Stratocaster".....yet he's not restoring a FENDER Stratocaster....rather he's restoring a no-name student guitar. I'm going to post a video titled "Lamborghini Gallardo restoration", but the video will show the restoration of a Toyota Corolla.

amazing how everything outside was rusted and full of dirt yet the inside of the pickguard looked brand new. #AnotherFakeRestorationVideo

I noticed that the body is a plywood one used on the Squier II. Great video. I was wondering if it's a Squier II model.

It's not a Fender.....as he says in the title. And, it's not a Squier either. It looks like it used to be a $200 Stratocaster clone. Look at the headstock at 0:08 mark.

Correct it is not a Fender. He just stuck a strat neck on it and who even knows if that is legit. This is clickbait.

@@antonsworldofvideos8096that looks like he added a "Squier by Fender" neck and just scraped off the "Squier by" bit, leaving the small Fender logo.

@@jamesf.ryaniii7918 I don't think it's a Squier, but the worst Squiers can be made out of plywood or something similar in a laminated fashion.
