ℹ️ About the Episode
When it comes to route planning and reservations, we stay flexible. Our initial plans were to travel to Helen, GA, because it stood out in the previous season as one of the places we'd like to explore more in-depth. But snow in GA changed our minds! We decided to stay along the coast and visit Kitty Hawk, NC, to see the Wright Brothers National Monument. We really enjoyed the city of Kitty Hawk, the Wright Brothers museum, and Bodie Island Light Station. It would have been nice to see more of the Outer Banks, but our last-minute reservations were limited due to the route change. We still got to enjoy watching the boats travel along the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) near Coinjock, NC. We've been dry camping more than ever this season. We stayed 4 nights at a Boondockers Welcome in Charleston, SC, and desperately needed to find a dump station. Necessity inspired us to use a truck stop for the first time ... and maybe the last. The first truck stop's dump station was closed and the second was hard to access.

Kitty Hawk high on my list! I have always been fascinated with aviation. Maybe because I was born 60 years to the day that the Wright brothers took that first flight. I got my pilot's license (in Phoenix) back in 2001. Thank you so much for sharing all of your adventures. I am living vicariously through you and your family not to mention all of the things I am learning about RV life, that I hope to live soon.

We appreciate when you show the RV Park with the drone. It allows us to decide if we should put it on our list. The biggest thing we don't like is reserving a site unseen and being disappointed. Loved seeing Kitty Hawk as well. Until next week. Stay safe and thanks for all you do. Kenny&Debbie

Holy cow.. You were right here and we missed you! Lol . We live in Manteo and I'm a paramedic out here. We've been to that campground once when they were still doing a lot of work but it is a awesome location. The skinny road to it is a little nerve racking in our 40 ft coach though... Lol. The Hatteras lighthouse in Buxton is actually the tallest in the US and the second tallest in the world! The story behind it is amazing as well. Hope you enjoyed your stay and Happy Mother's day Trish! Oh.... Yes it's always windy here... Lol. Love the videos and be safe!

In 35 years of owning campers we have never used RV antifreeze in the tanks. We live in Minnesota and we just blow out the lines and put antifreeze in the traps. Never have had a problem with lines freezing.

We "accidently" found the best RV Dump Station in the middle of nowhere. A ranger at Devil's Tower told us to use Sanidump and RVdump to find places (theirs was down at the moment and we were past the full. Imagine following a cattle truck. :D ) If you are ever in that area, it is called Leigh Creek RV Dump Station. Gotta look it up. Photos will show it is pretty impressive, given where it is.

Love OBX! And the Carolina beaches. Getting up early to watch the sunrise and walk on the beach then back for a shower and breakfast and off to the rest of the day is the best! Especially for this West Coast sunset on the beach gal. Kitty Hawk NP is where my husband bought his National Parks Pass for $10! We were so excited. The best deal ever. Thanks guys. I always put my level on the counter so stuff doesn't roll off when I'm cooking, it has worked well for me... As a part timer, I empty my HWH after every trip, I think it helps remove sediment so it never builds up.

I love the NC Outer Banks. Sadly, in 40 years living in NC I've only been there twice. At least the second time in 2018, I visited and climbed all the lighthouses, and visited the Wright Brothers Memorial. You need to check out the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse too. Its even taller (257 steps to the top), yet was actually moved nearly 1000 yards diagonally away from the approaching ocean about 20 years ago.

My parents took 5 kids two of them 2&4 years old🤦‍♀️. My father loved camping and at the seashore it couldn’t get any better . We slept in a big tent and the campground only had cold outside showers 🚿. My younger sister cried the whole time and we got sunburned and they had these burrs that stuck me in my feet 🦶even with all of that I still loved it all. My father always wanted to go back especially in time to when his kids were little. He had 4 daughters and 1 son. He loved us so much💝❤️

The Wright Brothers Museum was awesome and a place I would recommend too. The entire outer banks of NC are amazing to visit.
