the pressure rating on the package of these valves is much lower than on the amazon listing, and i know some folks have had these leak. Personally, mine have not leaked, but when you get them and look at the packaging they are rated for something like only 20PSI. I have gotten a lot of feedback on these, most of it was good, but a few leaks here and there. I will probably switch to stainless once I have a free minute and release an update about them.

Try without first, they should press seal against a rubber gasket inside the fitting at the top. If that seal is worn, try some Teflon tape next.

you can always use a brass male to female if you want to use a hose. I have no need to attach a hose to my low points since I have a T at my water pump if I want to run something into the plumbing. I also havent had any issues with insects. the area under the valve is small, less than an inch deep, and the valve is always closed even if something rests in there, its not getting in the plumbing and would be immediately flushed out if it did when the valve was open.

if youre connected to city water, its not going to cause a problem other than wasting water. If you're using your tank, then your going to consistently lose water and youll hear the pump kicking on often.

low point drains will almost always drain your water heater.

sanitizing your tank cleans out what was in there from before. It doesnt keep it clean because you rinse out the bleach after sanitizing. Regardless, mold growth can start to form in dark areas like pipes and fittings as early as 24-72 hours. Its just science, not something I made up, and you can research this too. Some folks spread out trips every month, much longer than 72 hours. Water becomes stagnant very quickly, and even if you dont drink the water, youre washing dishes you eat from, so is it really any different? Dish soap doesnt kill mold. Would you wash your dishes with water that was sitting in an open glass on your countertop for a month? Maybe, but I sure wouldnt.

MIGHT BE A CLOG IN THE P TRAP, OR JUST THE PIPING. IS WATER COMING OUT OF THE GRAY TANK WHEN YOU TURN THE SINK ON?

well at least you know the clog is somewhere in the p trap or down pipe to the tank. I would say to try a snake first but you may have a rubber trap seal instead of a physical p trap. a snake can damage that.

Hey John, thanks for letting me know that. The amazon description said they are rated for 100 psi. I will have to look into this, wondering if they changed the product since I bought mine. I have not had any problems with these leaking though. I think I might buy another pair and test them out since the packaging is saying 20 psi when the amazon description says 100. THanks again for the heads up, stay tuned...

John I think I have it figured out. look at the back of the package. the 20 psi is referenced to the bendable hoses these are commonly used with. the valve itself is actually rated for 100 psi, says right on the back of the package. its confusing though.

To my knowledge most trailers have plugs on the low points from the factory, not valves. Would be nice if they came with valves.

Yeah I was able to find it. Thank you. My low point drains are 1/2” female caps so I had to go with a PVC ball valve. I’ll try that and see how it works out. Thanks for your content.
