Being from South Carolina I was glad to see someone who speaks Southern American English make an RV roof repair video. I couldn't understand what the folks from Connecticut and California were saying. Very useful information. Thank you.

Love the dolly trick AND the ladder carrying trick! I'm a petite, but strong 120 lb, 5'5" gal, and I've shoulder balance carried our 30' extension ladder by myself many times... and invariably had a bruised, sore bony spot on either shoulder every time to prove it... Not anymore!!

hi dave , maintance is important on all RVs , good job , here's a tip I do , I keep my hot water heater off 90% of the time , save so much propane , I turn it on ten minuets before my shower and before I do dishes , other wise it is off , the water is always warm through out the day , your sub are climbing , great video as always thumbs up

You make a great point. I do the same with the water heater and I have always wondered if in the summertime if its necessary or once it warms does it stay warm. I am sure in the winter our method pays off. As for subs,,,Can you believe I my daily avg sub gain was 15 per day prior to the "arctic cooler" since then (2 weeks), my avg is now 36 and climbing!!! The pressure is on now. Thanks for your continued support.

Yep, living full time, I do the same. Besides that, if the wind blows a certain way and if it’s 15-20 mph , my pilot light goes out and propane gas fumes come inside the camper. That could be very dangerous. My daughter sleeps in a bunk next to bathroom so I make sure it’s off. My propane alarm goes off randomly. I also set an alarm on my phone at bedtime to turn off outside lights. Lock truck. Lock front door. Turn off propane. Check stove to make sure the knobs haven’t accidentally been turned on when my daughter and I pass each other our butts have turned it on before. I thought I was the only one. And on cold nights around 32 and lower, I turn on hot water heater to heat up water. I catch water in old gallon water bottles and sit in shower in case my water hose freezes. I go out and turn off water from faucet and put aluminum foil on the end to keep it clean until it unthaws. Run water out of my pipes. I could write a book after 3 years full time living and especially about how to cook frozen meals in microwave or toaster oven. One pot dishes. Save old paper towels because I’m OCD about hand washing, so I can wipe out food from a plate and I flush my dish water. It’s better doing that than stopping up my kitchen sink.

My camper is 11 years old and I have replaced the "hats" on the tank vents twice and I plan on replacing the whole units with medal ones, primed and painted white for more rust protection. I have a wall thermostat that controls ( multi-speeds)my kitchen fantastic fan and my bathroom fantastic fan is manual like yours with 3 speeds.

Okay! C congrats on the fan! You said you were going to be traveling and checking out RVs if you come across a light RV less than 1000 lb I'd be interested in knowing about it before you tell the whole world, I've been looking for a good one for about 8 months now it can be really small as there's just me. I'm hoping to travel beginning in the springtime the next year and being gone for the next five years. Makes me appreciate your videos like the one about the bent axle and other things you've covered so of course I'll keep watching you as you go along your trip maybe we'll see each other on down the road somewhere. I'm really having a hard time finding an Ultra Lite RV. I don't want to pay $20,000 for one. That's probably my biggest hang-up. Any help you can give will be appreciated. Keep making those videos.

Under 1000lbs is hard to come by. What is the vehicle you will be pulling with? Even as small as my RV is it weighs in at 2700lbs empty. They do make some very small teardrops that can weigh as low as 1000 but as you stated travel for 5 years, if I were personally to travel full time for 5 years, I couldn't do it in a tear drop, many of them do not have toilets, shower etc. I will gladly help you any way I can. Just let me know a few more specifics, Dave

You never know when it will happen. I was gaining 15 subs a day average, right now according to youtube I am gaining 36 a day. I am amazed, and grateful!!!

Imagine having ladder or scaffolding on each side of the trailer with a sturdy plank between. You sit on the plank while a friend SLOWLY moves the trailer every couple of minutes to bring the work to you. Then you never have to set foot on the roof, and you can work while seated!! Especially helpful if you coat the roof and especially for applying the 2nd coat.

I put my ladder on the back of my truck and back my truck up close to camper and since my truck bed has blown in truck bedding foam it doesn’t slip at all. And I put a piece of foam plumbing cover like a pool noodle between my ladder and camper and it protects my camper from being scratched.

I figured a composting toilet, cook stove, fridge, bed/mattress, fan, solar, batteries, propane tank. Shade tent, tools, and all the other things one might need will weigh at least 1,000 pounds.
@davesrvchannel4717
@davesrvchannel4717 6 жыл бұрын
If I read correctly your truck will tow 3220lbs, which includes everything including yourself and passengers. I'd check owners manual to ensure 3220 is correct. With that being said, I personally like to stay well below tow capacity. You can find a trailer weighing in at 1700 plus personals you should be within a good range. The smaller trailers sell much quicker, you may have to buy in dead of winter when competition is low.
