I like your videos. I do have to say that the family you pointed out and was parked at the Yukon, were Neither Overnighting, Nor Camping in that spot. In your video there is no sign of camping. No slides are opened, no chairs or people setting camp and you yourself said it is a "Yukon Rest Area". Most likely, as I do, they got there either earlier and are waiting to go in, or they are just on their way somewhere else and decided to stop and maybe walk around and stretch before continuing their trip. Just be a bit more mindful. 😊

I have enjoyed greatly following you guys for some time. Not only do I admire your adventurous spirit and envy your youth and vitality, I have admired the wise council you give, such as that directed towards those that just can’t seem to follow the rules. For all of those reasons, I was surprised to see you deface the “Yukon” sign..... For shame, for shame..... Oh well, I still love your videos and will enjoy this Alaskan adventure vicariously ..... Thank you guys for the work you do to post regularly....... Steve Boyte, Louisiana

Alaska has been amazingly beautiful this summer and because we produce videos only for the enjoyment and not a paycheck we only edit on down days or bad weather days. This summer has been unusually beautiful with very little bad days so we’ve been so busy exploring, fishing and hanging out with friends. The good news we have TONS of content to share for months to come.

Question: have you had any rock chips on your RV’s window or paint? I thought you might have gotten lost 🤣😂 your last video was a month ago. Haha!! Safe travels - enjoyed your video 😊💞🇺🇸

@@RVingtoAlaska I also felt a little weird when you slapped your sticker on that sign....just saying it didn't feel right, even if others had...isn't that what the Signpost Forest is for?

Please stop doing that. It's so annoying to see stickers and graffiti and such on public property. It does not advance your channel at all. It most likely has the opposite effect as people like me and David Peterson will be less likely to think positively about you and your channel.

Pau Hana Travels , that was a very poor response. Basically you’re saying “everybody else is doing it, why shouldn’t I .” You have people looking at you for guidance for travel in Alaska. I would hope defacing a government sign is a crime. Please set a better example. You will lose subscribers due to your actions and your uncaring response .

I agree wholeheartedly with your recommendation to respect the "no overnight parking" signs. Folks, just be aware, there are literally thousands of boondocking spots throughout western Canada. On out trip back south OUT of Alaska this fall, we tried to stop at this campground, Teslin government campground, but they were closed for the season. We didn't want to dishonor Canadian desires for us not to park in that rest area. Across the street there is an abandoned gravel pit with no "no parking" signs and we stayed there. There are options without breaking the law.

What if everyone put stickers on welcome signs ? Kinda ruins photo when others stop to take a picture in front of the sign. Please don’t deface these beautiful signs. Have enjoyed your videos but this disappoints me.

Would like to travel alaska by car. Do you know what the availability of motels are in most of these areas?
@skipwatson1951
@skipwatson1951 4 жыл бұрын
Nearly all the towns along the way have motels. Some bigger than others, but most are small. They are spread out, as the towns are spread out, but the "next one down the road" is an easy day's drive away from wherever you spend the night.

How safe are these government camp sites? How do you stay connected to their local news? Given, the recent 2 young killers that were on the run. Thanks for another great informative video.
@RVingtoAlaska
@RVingtoAlaska 5 жыл бұрын
We’ve always felt safe while traveling up North. The BC murders are rare and their victims unfortunately were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Neither were in campgrounds when killed but broken down or pulled over on pull offs. These campgrounds actually give you safety in numbers because we were never alone in any of them. As for staying connected other than the Cassiar we’ve always had service usually at least for a portion of the day. The other key is getting out and talking to other travelers. Sharing information and just enjoying the journey. Thanks for watching and thank you for the comment.

I like the "BIG" green tables the Yukon Provincial Park Campgrounds have. *** Don't take the firewood as they spray some glitter type paint on them so the the locals or RVers don't steal it. $12 Ca. exchanged into US dollars is less than $9...

The wife and I are planning the drive to Alaska next summer. Enjoy your adventure and add it to our research of KZfaq RVers. One question: no one seems to discuss the money exchange and how much Canadian cash to carry while traveling through Canada. This video shows a payment drop box for your campsite, not a card payment option. How much actual Canadian cash do you recommend and can you get more along the way if needed??
@RVingtoAlaska
@RVingtoAlaska 5 жыл бұрын
We usually go to an ATM after crossing into Canada and pull out a couple hundred dollars in Canadian cash. Most of if not all Provinical Parks and Government Campgrounds only accept cash. By going to an ATM you will get the best rate exchange thru the banking system. This summer the rate is around 25-30% discount (US dollar is stronger) so when you pull $100 CAD it’s really only costing you $70-$75 USD. $300 usually gets us almost up to the Yukon and into Alaska. We always pull more in Whitehorse to get us across the border and then store the remaining cash until the Fall when we return back down.
