Most important thing that you did not mentioned was that it's NCM cathode solid state battery has 4000 cycle life,if we put that in to perspective regular NCM batteries have 1500 effective cycle life if you compare it with other regular liquide cathodes which have 800(NCA) to 3000(LFP)cycles lifes,liquide NCM stands in the middle in term of longevity but this new solid electrolyte NCM battery out performs even LFPs with its 4000 effective cycle life which is truely fascinating

@@davidfujkk8018 TechInsights did a teardown. It's a fake with a standard lithium pack. Not solid state. The specs advertised are the same as every other Chinese power bank, all of which claim up to 4000 cycles to 80%. This one is more overpriced. Which is why they have money to give to youtubers before the Amazon Prime day to promote them. Only thing solid state in these power banks are the lies.

Super important to differentiate between power and energy. So that unit produces 4000 W of continuous power, and it has an energy storage capacity of 2600 W-hours. Or 2.6 kWh. people get their units screwed up all the time and it just confuses everyone.

Wow that is super neat, but at $3000 it would have to come down a bit. For about $500 you can get 2 100 Ah li time batteries and $400 for an inverter I’ll save the $2000 and deal with the extra size.

One can always make something cheaper, less convenient or of a lower aesthetic. Always. There is no limit to how low quality a $200 battery, or $400 4000w inverter might be. Not to mention (you didn't) the cost of a good rapid charger. Many of your fellow viewers are well aware of the DIY mentality and want nothing to do the massive conflagration that you have described. I have built solar systems of all sizes and at this point in my life would rather just order one of these and be done with it. I would rather be fishing with my grandkids.

You can't buy a 4000W inverter for $400 and you're missing a charger. You could buy a good quality 4000W solar hybrid inverter and a 48V 2.4kWh rack mount battery, cables, fuses etc but you'd be spending similar money for a little more solar capacity and a 240V outlet. I think given the compactness and portability I could only build something less convenient for less money.

Couple quick thoughts. I wonder what the DC amp output is on the front DC5521 ports, and WHY did they not write in on the power station? The solar is limited to 10 amps? That is WAY too low. For me personally, I have to have all my ports in the front, but I guess for some people having some on the back would work. While I doubt this is safer than LiFePO4 battery chemistry, at 51 pounds for 2.6 Wh it does seem to have a LOT more energy density making it a lighter unit, nice. I wonder what the life cycle is, I hope it is at least close to LiFePO4's 2000 to 5000 times.

I saw minute man prep on KZfaq at CES and told them to fix MPPT to 2000watts.... Then this is a winner.... So i run mini split on garage on a 2000watt inverter power station... Is draws in summer Phoenix heat 900-1200 watts i have 1100watts coming in during day so it keeps up with it.... At night i use EG4 48v to charge on one of the dual mppt and it dies about 3 hrs at night... Battery is still half charged.... But it can only inlut 550 watts but load is 1000 watts so i need to add 2nd battery on othe mppt so it will get the full capacity.... So this yoshino is only 600watts so it will suffer if only solar is charging during the day and load is say 1000watts at end of the day it will not even be fully charged for night..... Like the inverter and power density... Redesign mppt and you will capture the market 😅

Interesting product but you better really need that portability. It costs about what I spent on my two LiFePO4 batteries and multiplus II and while it may weight like 1/3 of what they do it also has 1/3 the capacity. I don't think safety is really a selling factor vs LiFePO4 given its already a very safe chemistry. This stikes me more as a battery that combines power and energy density of lithium ion with the safety and longevity of LiFePO4. Once they get production costs down its a killer battery for ev's.

The problem with solid state or solid electrolyte batteries has been longevity. They are claiming 2800 cycles to 80% capacity (which rivals LiFe) but traditionally the expansion and contraction of these batteries during charge/discharge has been a big problem. If it lives up to its claims at a $1 per Wh it's quite reasonable although slightly more expensive than other power stations with similar specs. It's almost exactly the same weight as an Ecoflow Delta Max (2048Wh) so their claims of 25% to 30% lighter are spot on.

A properly cared for LFP power station can easily get 3000 charge cycles before dropping to 80% remaining capacity. So what`s the actual advantage of solid state in the real world? I see none. My LFP power stations have been used heavily for nearly 4 years (I bought the 1st releases) and capacity has remained exactly the same. Even my grade-A lithium ion power stations have had no loss in capacity that I`ve noticed and I cycle them regularly for cooking, lights and frequent power outages. The only minor issue I`ve seen is a loose display cable in my original Golabs R300 bought in December 2020. It doesn`t really affect its usefulness and I can tap it and it clears up. This is a common issue with the originals. It can run my WIFI for 24 hours or cook rice 3 times.

60v limit on solar input is a dealbreaker. These units should be able to take a string of at least 3x residential panels, and have a max input voltage of at least 150v. That anemic 60v, 10amp limit, means a single residential panel. Yes, you could Y to 3 panels in parallel, to overpanel, but you'll always be excessively restricted by it's input limits. At most, this is a battery pack with an inverter/charger. It's not any kind of option for solar use. PASS

Good review, but the claim of solid state is something I question. The advertising DOES say it's solid state, but it also says it's an enhanced lithium chemistry. I don't know of any truly solid state lithium storage under development, but maybe they are referring to a solid state inverter or some such. I don't believe that this is well-constructed or engineered, but you should certainly feel a solid state battery - much lighter.

@mikebrand192 there are a lot of solid state batteries under development currently. There's a handful of companies doing production line scaling right now. Toyota is testing it's production lines and said they'll have solid state in Hybrid cars for next year's models. It's possible these units are being made with early test runs off of one of those companies. Could even be early Toyota B grade cells, to my knowledge no one has done a teardown of these yet. I've seen other "solid state" cells in other videos, and they're just very rigid gel cells that are still highly flammable.

It looks like to me this is not UL listed. The description says "ETL certified to UL2743 standards" which is NOT the same thing, and when I go on the UL site i can find nothing on this unit. If it was UL listed I would have LOVED to see the sticker on the unit that says this. I have purchased many power stations that state they are UL listed, but so far unfortunately they all were not. They just say they are, or they just say they 'conform' to UL standards. The best i have seen so far is that the external charger is UL listed, (i.e. "the brick" or AC adaptor) which means little to me.

My new home has terrible RF interference and I love listening to very long range shortwave radio signals. Now I can only do that during power outages. Even regular AM radios get exceptional (daytime is very surprising) range after hurricanes knock out everything. That`s why I promote high quality SW & AM receivers for these emergencies to get info when cell phone, radio and local TV signals are gone after these storms. Few care though. This thing can generate power indefinitely with its battery untouched at 100% while you continue to supply "solar fuel" to it. Trust me, I've generated power this way with my Bluettis for hours on end. You could call it a solar generator with a battery. As long as you have solar coming into it, its battery is irrelevant. Nothing wrong with "Power Station"; it does that too.

Solar generator uses solar. Gas generator uses gas. One is on-site energy going forward. The other continues to cost money and requires trips to a gas station, oil changes, spark plugs, repair, cleaning the fuel system, replacement of lines, etc.

@@jmorrison5206 The circuitry bypasses the battery at full charge when running a device that uses less power than the solar input. In fact, 12v DC devices like cookers/fans/lights can easily use straight panel power generation. The battery only switches on under this condition when a cloud passes over...similar to a capacitor in a circuit. Solar is on-site power and over time is far more efficient and less expensive to use than a gas generator. I would never want to power my freezer with expensive gas after a hurricane. A gallon of gas, if I store the energy in a battery, can run my freezer for a week instead of only 3 or 4 hours. So can 6 hours of solar charging.

@NoelBarlau
@NoelBarlau 20 күн бұрын
The term is inaccurate on the face of it. A generator is something that makes power on demand and can keep on making power as long as you add fuel. "Solar Generators" are just battery banks that last until they're discharged, and it takes a significant amount of time to recharge them - especially if you're only using solar power. Very misleading moniker for them, I've always thought.
