And some give you *zero* idea what the show is about, like Chicken Soup. New shows need viewers and new viewers need to know what they'll be watching.

I remember Open House, but I remember it was originally called Duet. I met Chris Lemmon several times in the 90s and never remembered he was on that show. He came into my work several times and I always begged him to bring his father, Jack Lemmon, next time so I could meet him. I was obsessed wih Jack Lemmon at the time.

So weird remembering that "Family Matters" did not originally have Urkel in the cast or that "Baywatch" looked vastly different when it premiered on NBC from what we know of it in syndication. Plus, wow, Ellen DeGeneres, Allyson Hannigan and Halle Berry before they were famous. Not to mention, jeez, the 80's and that hair!

@@YDNTK-ui4uc , yeah I was just going to say that Steve Urkel wasn't really a household name yet. But as the show got more popular, he was eventually added to the regular cast, and to Carl's frustration level.

This is really interesting. Not so much for the shows, which seem mostly forgettable, but for the huge range of visual styles. Everything from nostalgia for the FBI of 1962 to the breakthrough caused by late 80s advances in video editing. Even a late 70s/early 80s style hand-drawn animation with The Nutt House.
