"I realized at that moment that you can carry as much weight singing very quietly and playing very quietly ..." Love when he was talking about this at 5:55. Wait like who is this? I just have to say I am so grateful to have stumbled upon him, his music, & now this interview - was curious once I heard "yayaya" -wanted to know more about. Ry, if you ever see this thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing so much of your honesty. I have just learned so much/been awaken to much by this interview. I myself am a singer/songwriter just getting out of being blocked for many years and hurt by the industry. I also grew up in a small town and kind of found myself in LA so I relate to that dichotomy. I think I needed to hear what you said about writing having to do w/ the atmosphere of where you grew up. You would make a great teacher! Anyway, I appreciate so much of all you spoke of - so very refreshing to hear from a singer/songwriter, and hope you keep up that beautiful brain of yours on your shoulders.

We used to spend some together in our younger years in Bondi. I remember him sneaking out in the morning and bringing me a cherry ripe and a tonne of fresh picked frangipanis. 😊 such a sweet soul ❤such a transformation. Always been insanely talented, however watching his old stuff compared to he is new stuff is night and day. I wish I could find the cd he gave me. There aren’t many people as special as R. Best Summer ever

I first saw him perform with Odesza “Corners of the Earth” in 2019 right before the Pandemic hit and he blew me away. Only a few incredibly talented artists like him come around in a lifetime. Highly under-rated individual!

Okay RY, I left ya a comment after listening to "Unfurl", on that screen. I loved the album. After you left me a reply on "Meddle" by Pink Floyd screen. I had to look up who you are. You sound like me in different ways. I haven't worked since the year 2000! I retired at age 58 in 2015; the corporation had paid me to stay home for fifteen years!! So I hiked up to the top of 32 fourteeners (1999-2009), visited relatives in Germany and Sicily, drive around through 48 states! So now I'm 65 years old. I just listened to your interview (part one).
