Ryan Giggs's first press conference as Manchester United manager

putting aside his personal life, as a footballer you have to admire his attitude and class. To be at a top level from 14 years old in MU and still here at 40 getting games season after season and trophies more than most clubs ever dream of.... is something i think we will never see again

Man I know its been a bad season for us but seeing giggs, scholes and butt in charge has made me happy even tho its short term. Simply because I know we are finally in safe hands.

Just to be clear, Im a Man Utd fan and have been the whole of my life. It was a shame to see Moyes go so quickly, I thought that he should have been given a bit more of a chance, even if this season wasnt too great but hey atleast we wasnt battling to stay in the BPL. Personally, Giggs is one of my favourite players just because he can still keep up with the pace of the game, and despite his age, he still wants to play that was shown with him saying that he gave himself a 5 year contract. He talked passionately about the club, just like Sir Alex would have and I just know the players are going to want to play their hearts out because they respect the guy. Im really looking forward to watching tomorrows match and see how the team performs. And if it so happens we lose, I wont be one of those people who are like "Get him out, he's a load of rubbish blah blah blah" no, I will still be supporting the club no matter what and will be for the rest of my life. Peace.

For the first time this season I actually believe what our Manager is saying, and you know what it's a huge relief!! Just hope this continues I'm liking the class of 92 presence that's going on at the club at the moment, imagine Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Garry and Phil all managing an coaching the team. Better still would be if they all came together and bought the place off the Glazier's!!!

give him the job. he knows the club inside out, the players respect him and the fans adore him. why bring in a old foriegn manager when you have a perfect candidate who has and will spit blood for the badge.

Giggs deserves a lot of respect and he may be a great manager in the making, but at this stage he's unproven; some great players become top managers, others are not up to the job, Hopefully the 4 games will go well for him as a starter for better things.

Feels good to have someone leading United the right way which is the united way. I feel sorry for Moyes because the players or board had no confidence in him. Hope the best for him but concentrating from now on, our season should start from the Norwich game and Ryan Giggs hopefully leads on from now on. He has the respect of the players, fans and has been with fergie for enough years to help him. Good luck

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. Moyes isn't a bad manager, things just don't work sometimes. Seeing Giggs in charge is exciting. The players will want to play for him and respect him.

m1che1 4 matches are nowhere near enough to judge anyone on. Ferguson was given years to get it right. If United lost all 4 matches that wouldn't mean Giggs would be a bad manager any more than winning all 4 would make him a great one.

I've never been close to supporting Man Utd (just not a fan by a mile), but must say I've always respected Giggs. He's such a professional guy, great personality and life-long Man Utd supporter, player, player-coach and now interim coach. I really wish he's given the opportunity now or at some point in the near future to coach the team permanently. Giggs, Gerard, and Scholes are top-class professionals, all first amongst equals.

As a Liverpool fan I was a bit gutted Moyes got the sack with him helping everyone bar Man Utd... that was until I heard they was replacing the proven premier league manager for a unproven coach. Super job Man U, keep it up :)

As a United fan and for those who have been for many years you always knew he would take over as manager one day just not this quickly. I mean Sir Alex found him as a boy at 14 and he has done everything since then at a consistent basis. I hope Sir Alex argues for him to be a permanent manager if he does well these last two games.
