12 жыл бұрынDuring Ryan Higa's Q and A event at Wave House Sentosa on the 2nd of September 2012 (ryanhigasg2012.eventbrite.com/) Ryan attempts to learn a few Singlish words with the help of a few fellow Singaporean KZfaqrs - Noah and Tosh.
It was hilarious and awesome!! I recorded it with my 5D Mark II and held it high above, I had a lens with IS so the video is very steady - however my arms were getting tired after a while haha.. do make sure that you watch till the very end to see Ryan role play with Singish - it's very funny :)

I beg to differ. I'm chinese, but I, too, use 'malay' words like amaciam, tak boleh tahan, etc. It is all these little words from each language/dialect that build up the entire 'vocabulary bank' of singlish. As much as I know, my malay friends use words in the video too. Though I ought to agree on the main words you stated. P.S. It isn't chinese, it's hokkien.

aww man~~~ they missed the most important part of singlish. The LA LO LEH AH. Don't like that leh Don't like that la Wa like that lo Wa like that one ah This is the real singlish. They mainly teached hokkien. Still, good job on spreading the slangs that we use in Singapore.

Uhm, basically i dont think singlish is smth we should be too proud of. Indeed, its a self-created language that is so unique. But no, it doesnt connect us to the rest of the world. STILL, its a special part of us, but we need to learn to focus on the proper english first. BUT RYAN PRONUNCIATION IS SO ADORABLE!

LOL bojio means "never call me along to go with you guys" So you use it during times when maybe you've just found out that your friends made plans to go out during the weekend but didn't call you along then you can go all WALAO BOJIOOOOOO

Yea.. There's alot of teenagers nowadays dont really know the original meaning of "CHIOBU", hence it is treated as a common word for "pretty lady" among teenagers.
