great idea tbh. I remember in 2015 the canucks had a different alumni member wave the towel with the crowd before the game. Could do it again this year.

Man they should bring Kesler in the Canucks dressing room before game one, letting them know you may never get back and feelings when it’s over, get some of his experience to these guys.

Tough listen - really feel for Ryan here but was nice to hear him speak candidly about his experience. Tough to feel like you're losing out on the game that you love so much, but glad to hear he's found joy in coaching his kid. Forever a Canuck

Kesler talking about the end of his career and the game being taken from him was a hard listen. I bought his jersey in '07 long before he became the player most of us remember in his 40 goal selke year. I just really wish he would have never had that moment in his return where he was waving off the fans for wanting to give him the recognition he deserved for being a great Canuck.

This was great hearing from Kes! The term “put the team on his back” always makes me think of Kesler in 2011 against the Preds. Bo Horvat against St Louis in the bubble series comes to mind next. But Kes had 41g/82gp that season, playing at a selke level as a 2nd line center-wow that team was stacked. Thanks though guys! Love hearing from former Canucks and seeing they still follow the team and cheer for their success. 😊

I remember the way Ryan Kesler played in the 2011 playoffs... in game 7 against Boston, I felt he was the only Canuck who was not affected by the moment, and he was trying single-handedly to take down the Bruins.. His career ended in such a disappointing way and you could hear that in his voice still... But I'm glad to hear that he has regained his love for the game through coaching... I think it is a worthy conversation that he should be considered to be a ring of honour player...
@donmackie608626 күн бұрын
One of the most emotionally satisfying moments in Canuck history was the warmth he was received with by Canucks fans in his return to Rogers Arena a few years back. Would love to see him get a one day contract to have his number retired to the rafters. One adjective that was never used in describing Ryan was 'lazy'. He was passionate member of the team and he deserves to be honored for that. Nuff said.

Hearing about him coaching his kid and that bringing back his love for the game is awesome too! RYAN!! That was such a GREAT listen. I really enjoyed the wild ride that was "Watching the Playoffs with Ryan Kesler" a few years ago... with, if I recall, Eugenie Bouchard in attendance? Oh man... I don't think Sportsnet was prepared. Anyway.. great to reminisce about Kesler's amazing series vs Nashville. We will be truly blessed if anything remotely similar happens this year for our team. We have a lot of incredible players this year, so I wouldn't put it past any number of our current Canucks to hulk-out and go "full Kesler", but the truth is... I am just going to enjoy whatever we get this year. I'm so proud of our team for everything they've done and I'm going in with zero expectations. Lots and lots of hope and drive and excitement, but I'm going to be smiling at the end of it whatever happens. The guys deserve that, this year.

Kes has matured so much. Honestly, in my books, he's welcome back to Vancouver any time. I hope the organization does the right thing, signs him to a one-day deal so he can retire a Canuck, and put him in the RoH.
@virtualrealitychannel227629 күн бұрын
He's just being humble. People are fast to say Miller is better but Kesler was the definition of beast mode. You can't blame them though since many have never seen playoff hockey. After a decade of never making the (real) playoffs they think regular season accomplishments are equal to playoff accomplishments. If Miller wins multiple playoff rounds over many seasons and continues to play responsible D for the rest of his career, then yes he'll be superior to Kesler. Remember, Kesler was never lazy on defense... ever. Compare to Miller who only now at 30 is making the playoffs with the Canucks.
@joelface29 күн бұрын
It's also not fair to judge a player by the quality of the team and management that surrounds them. Many incredible players have deserved better than they accomplished in their careers because of who they played with, and for who. (But GREAT point about Kesler's backchecking... it was a huge part of his game!)
