This is a masterpiece. I appreciate how consistently you matched to the lyrics it makes it so satisfying. The way you've matched to lyrics in places (like for the lines "sitting on a bench in Coney Island" "we're like the mall" "Disappointments close your eyes" "And it gets colder and colder") is so clever. How has no one yet mentioned how gosh the male voice singing the part about "and when i got into the accident, the sight that flashed before me was your face" being DAMN so perfect, also the way you match the "merry go [round]" idea with their two classic ferris wheel scenes is EVERYTHING and i honestly when i first heard this song thought of them because of the Ferris Wheel stuff! (I mean i think of Coney Island as a permanent small carnival place despite never having been there... So the whole title kinda evokes that carnival feel as a very significant part of the nostalgia being sung about.) Others have mentioned other really perfect matches that left me in awe and adoring this SO much. Like "the mall before the internet" whole section of tee vid was so so beautifully done and also evokes the age of the show The O.C. and how the internet wasn't really as fully a part of these teens lives as teens today, smart phones weren't quite a thing yet... And just gosh... The way you took the lyrics about the couple's special spot by trees and made it their little lifeguard hut on the beach thing... I loved all the little tiny things just as much as the big things too. 1:55 I don't think i ever before noticed all the hundred other times I've seen that hand on her back scene and even vidded it myself how his thumb is bruised from fighting still. This quality and coloring finally made me see what I usually miss entirely. I loved the soft voiceovers for them saying each other's names when the lyrics were about saying their names, super undervidded special stuff there. I rewatched the whole series only 2 years ago but you really make me want to rewatch it yet again. This is so gorgeous and amazing. When just the opening two scenes, the emotion on their faces, the uniqueness of vidding those scenes at all but especially to set the tone of the entire vid. I need to rewatch this amazing vid a bunch more times. I was thinking I wanted to vid this song but vids like this make that prospect quite intimidating! This was a perfect use of such an emotional song.

Ever since I saw this video I have to watch it at least once a day. I'm rewatching the OC because of this, and their relationship is so sad and real at the same time, I love Marissa as a person and as a character. You capture their essence in this video so good!

this is absolutely the softest saddest thing ive ever seen!!! i've not seen this show/these 2 in its entirety but this was on another level of perfect, this song fit them so perfectly and the parallels you drew to the trouble they have and their younger more carefree days was beautiful! an absolute work of art and i'm going to have to come back to this when i finish the show! i know its in quite a simple style but it fits the song and the mood so perfectly, a beautiful edit for sure!

god this was ART. i saw the title and the ship and i was already like oh my god that's perfect, that's the perfect song for them. and then you went and did everything i knew you would do, perfectly pacing and matching every lyric in the song (which is not an easy thing to do!!!) i especially love all the little parallels you found, and devastatingly using the ryan carrying marissa parallels at the end was perfect. i'm honestly really touched to see my vids in the description, especially if that got you to make this that's truly the best compliment i could ever receive. really thank you so much for such a great tribute to such a heartbreaking ship, i'll never be over them!

just gonna open up a little bit here cause no one really talks about the oc anymore. ryan and marissa were really "it". but that's why i think marissa had to die. despite knowing what misha was facing when she leaft the show, her caracter never had the caracter arc to last till the end. i feel like everyone around her evolved e she was left behind, since she was with volchok on the last two episodes before the finale. i try to erase season 4 from my memory since the first three seasons were so meaningful. i was so angry when they tried to brush off her death. i wish ryan, julie, jimmy, summer, luke and everyone that made an impact in her life got together and talked about her, and that could be the end of it. just really sad mischa doesn't really appreciate her time on the show, bc she was kinda living marissa's live irl, and i hate that people fatshame her and judge the the way she would act on set bc she was really struggling in her personal life, and the early 2000s were such a hard time for so many celebrities considering how disgusting the tabloids were bach then. it would make my heart so warm to see the cast or at least imagine that they are in good terms. this show is going to mark my life forever and i'm so happy that there are edits being made about it. it was truly iconic and revolutionary, ty so much for this ❤️
