Had this problem for quite a while in 2019 while using a Dell Inspiron 15-3552, and that is one of the key reasons I ended up switching to a MacBook Pro as well as switching to Final Cut Pro. Needless to say, I had given up on Premiere Pro…

While Premiere Pro does have a myriad of issue, I agree, this particular issue is usually human error (because you’ve moved your files from their original location.)

Does the same thing work for team projects or is there a different way to fix that? I have a team project that I invited others to collaborate on, but the files in it appear to be offline for them.

That’s a great question. I’ve actually never used a team project in Adobe, so I’m not sure of the answer? Hopefully, someone else here can help. In the meantime, I’ll look into it!

is there a way to do it with compositions I made in after effects? I always et the error with the after effects comps and I'm really just so disheartened

Make sure you’re not deleting any of the files that after effects creates. They have to stay linked.

I opened my project from an auto save and then I went to export it it said If I did it would replace old file which I thought was fine , but after export it says media offline in my videos filepath , I go back to premiere and whenever I open up any of the autosaves it’s the same thing so I was going to restart from scratch but now I can’t find the gameplay footage I had anywhere I’m pretty sure it got replaced with the exported video somehow what do I do ?

Unfortunately, if the original file got replaced, there isn’t anything you can do unless you have a copy of the original somewhere.

Premiere is showing this error to some drone filed from entire footage. while it has loaded other drone footage of same format, it shows me generic error when i locate the specific file from the exact same spot. it is just not loading files.

Sounds like that could be a file codec or format issue? Try converting the file to something else and see if it will work. I’ve had something similar happen with mobile phone footage before.

@@RyanCampFilms premiere randomly used to decide against a file and not load it one of the times I used to open a project. Out of nowhere. Then I upgraded my nvme ssd and installed windows on it and got premiere 2023. Didn't happen yet.

The problem is I keep relinking a ton of files and save the project then open the project the next day and have to relink them all again. Premiere is showing the correct path to them but can't find them until I click Locate then select the folder they're it highlights the right folder. I tried making new Projects but this keeps happening. What is this bug??? Also it's not all my media only certain files. I have over 11 TB of footage for my documentary and it's crazy to expect my editor to keep relinking files each day. This just started happening.

Maybe the file was deleted from you downloads folder, or moved?

Once you nest clips together, they are no longer referenced outside of the software. Make sure your clips can be pointed to before you nest them. Hope that helps.
