In this tutorial, I will show you how to use Curves in Blender.
➡️ I forgot to mention in the video that I have the "Add Curve Extra Objects" Addon turned on. You can turn it on in Blender's user Preferences, under Addons. It will give you extra curve objects to use.

By far the best blender teacher i have found. You explain things like we are beginners but also use terminology that everyone will understand, you explain things not in use of crazy theories like we have been doing this for years on end. Most tutorials on blender act like we have been doing this for years. Thank you!!!

Thank you for the simple, clear and helpful video! At first I only saw 5 options (Bezier, Circle, Nurbs Curve, Nurbs Circle and Path) in my Add>Curve menu. To see the other curve options shown below Path at 2:02 I had to enable the "Add Curve: Extra Objects" add-on.

omg you helped me with so much in this video. I'm making my first room in blender to learn how to 3d model, and you taught me so many things other videos hadn't to do certain commands I really needed to use, in a easier format, all while also teaching me how to use the curve. So many things you mentioned helped me in different aspects. I'm finally starting to feel like I'm becoming familiar with blender now. Thank you, so much for this video. Truly.

In newer builds you have to enable the arrows that run along the curve in edit mode. The setting is in viewport overlays, they're the normals/handles checkbox.

@@Turb0Transp1 Viewport overlays( it's a drop down menu on the top right), curve edit mode(at the bottom of the dropdown menu), the checkbox is next to a slider, check the check box then select a curve in the viewport. Go into edit mode, the curve should show the normal/arrows. Only curves will show these types of normal.

Some instructors move at a crank head pace and you have to slow down vid to 1/4 speed......Some instructors don't have the access to a microphone...some instructors think I'm interested in blasting music that drowns out the voice....some instructors do a 5 minute and skip over 5 steps in the 1st minute...RYAN does it the professional, comprehensive and caring way...making it look easy..Thanks R.K.

this is awesome, but my one thing i would really like to know is when creating curves the drawing system in blender is kind of whack. when you create the curve, it draws in 3d space. yes, i know it make sense for a 3d program, but it makes it difficult to align the curve to one plane. ie i am trying to cut a channel from an object that is sitting flat on the xy plane. when i create the bezier curve, it adds z values at seemingly random occurrences. how can i add nodes/vertexes on the same z value parallel to the mesh i am cutting a channel in?

Wow just found this! Very comprehensive and informative. I am a noob and am trying to use Blender for a specific task I have a model I would like to add a path to as a new object on a model to illustrate a route driven on a model of an aerial location mesh. I really only need to turn the curve left and right from a top-down perspective as it follows a street. When I use these tools, it rotates in all axis. is there a way to control the rotation by axis. And last question once I create my path how can I raise it off the ground "x" amount? Thanks so much.
