khlayla is a manipulator narcissist look up her being exposed. she cucked a ex boyfriend because she wanted to manipulate she knew it was slimy and wrong. she did the same thing to bobby. she brought another man in the relationship on bobbys money he flew her to hawaii because he wanted to do anything to keep her while he was in rehab in a dark place. bobby never wanted an open relationship if you watch the clues she was grooming bobby to be in an open relationship like her ex. once you see how slimy she is it all makes sense. it makes me think that brendan schwab was right now

Him saying he doesn’t have the energy to put time/effort into a relationship is exactly where I am at. It’s no fault to the woman I’m seeing or talking too; I just personally don’t have any drive to create something new in my life. I’ve been open and honest to every woman I meet, and I find like Bobby said, not something woman are attracted too. But that’s okay; because I want to be alone. One thing I have to say. Bobby expressed that “girls” want/need the cuddles and attention and then later spoke about his inability to go and do things for the sake of the other person bc he simply just doesn’t want to. That is not a women thing. In any relationship wether it’s familial or romantic of friendly requires each person to do things for the others happiness even if it’s not something you want to do. If you don’t do that, it’ll begin to feel transactional rather than loving. If Bobby continues to refuse to do things for the other persons sake and only does things when HE wants to, he will never find a person. It’s hard to swallow but true.

At some point, if he continues with therapy, he will move from this point. It may not be a far move, but he will give something to have that connection. I’ve found this to be true.. and the loneliest moments of my life. Being with someone but not with them. Makes you wanna cheat, go find someone else, break it off and be alone than alone in a relationship. But you love them and the moments you’ve shared. They don’t want to be FWB,don’t want you to leave, but don’t want you to seek that attention they can’t give. Gets upset that you befriend other men for a male perspective when he doesn’t like to talk. He doesn’t make the money to give… it’s just a awkward position. Almost feels pointless.

Respect to Bobby Lee in many ways. He never disrespects Khayla, he owns up to his issues, and is a work in progress. I’m glad the current culture is for people to step outside themselves and look at what’s broken. No shame in owning your character flaws. That said, it has to go beyond this. Admitting your damage doesn’t mean you’re not also doing damage to other people. Let’s collectively examine how we’re fecking up and have some empathy for the people who love us, let us in, and have to deal with our garbage. Then watch us change. Admittance without serious ownership of the harm we’ve caused becomes a new platitude of narcissism.

I think you are oversimplifying why it’s happening. I don’t think it’s about growing up at all, at least in my case it isn’t. I have a good, successful career which I do sacrifice for. However, when I’m not working, I want to do what I want to do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If I don’t have to, I shouldn’t have to force myself to be unhappy for a majority of my life. And right now, at 25, unless it was the right type of person, I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship. I don’t want to have to worry about a significant others feelings, wants, needs, both emotionally and physically. I am at least self aware enough to realize that right now I’m not interested in that. However, saying that’s because people don’t want to grow up is asinine.

I’ve been married to my husband for 15 years. We have a great relationship on all fronts. We work together, we have a great love life, we enjoy our extended families, we have good kids, and we share our faith. It takes a lot of effort from both sides. In fact the first year we were married, we almost divorced. We went to counseling and the therapist told us he didn’t see us making it. My husband stood up, grabbed my hand and the then said to the therapist as he pulled me to the door, “ We are not listening to this shit!” In that moment we realized this was death do us part. Then last year my husband got sick and almost died from Covid. During that time I contemplated on the fact that I have the best, and how would I ever be lucky enough to have someone or something so good again. I don’t have any desire to ever date or get remarried again. I would be fine alone. So, I understand and believe Bobby when says that he is alright not dating again.

So maybe in a year he will get to a point in the cycle of self fulfillment that he will start remembering what he had. Waking up remembering dreams of what he used to have, getting flashes of it from moments in TV. That sort of penance is probably what he actually needs to change. I resonate with your girlfriend, because my girlfriend and I are the same right now. My girlfriend is a lovely, lovely person. But her go-with-the-flow personality is just too much for me to handle. She’s European, and constantly flip-flops on whether she’s going to stay in the states or leave depending on her mood. We stay in bed for hours on the weekend, until I eventually have to kick ourselves out and make sure we’re doing something, otherwise it feels like a waste. Throughout our entire relationship, I’ve always been the one to initiate texting/calling/planning because she’s just so aloof, loves nothing more than just spontaneously spending a day staring out at a skyline or up at the sky for hours while disregarding any real-life duties or experiences. And this will be the end of our relationship - mark my words. Don’t get me wrong, I love those slow, stop the world and melt with you moments. But I also love the stimulating parts of life. We recently went on vacation together - the whole week she wanted to stay on the beach. I wanted to see stuff and work in time for the beach as we went along. What he's describing sounds like text book intimacy avoidance. I was in a similar situation with my wife and I needed to have a rude awakening to see what I was doing to her. It leaves your partner feeling like they're the problem no matter how you try to explain it. I needed to stop the porn and jerking off but most importantly I needed to learn how to be intimate with my wife, more than just physically.
@Undoing88

It's hard to take that leap. Many of us (in my experience, far more often in men) have a hard time reconciling "be strong" and "be vulnerable" within the context of a relationship with our partner. It makes sense. It's a tough line to walk. But if she's a real catch, she'll be fine with your intimate side. Good luck out there to all who struggle with it. My advice is to just show up completely vulnerable. The women I admire the most have all cherished vulnerability in a partner. I've also known many who were turned off by it - but they were categorically lower quality people!

Dude I've been with my wife for 15 years now and yeah there was that little "mystery" part at the beginning, but the part where you know someone almost as well as you know yourself, and you know you can trust them 100% with everything - not just being there in an emergency, but your feelings, your private thoughts, your everything - that's the sweetest part of a relationship I've ever been in and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It really does sound like he's not comfortable with himself (a lot of comedians aren't) and has low self-esteem (a lot of comedians do) and has never been forced to mature. He started making money at a young age, landed some great gigs with his talent, and is now just sortof coasting through life as a grown-up adolescent. As he said, he's not a loser, he's just stuck emotionally like a lot of successful men are.

I don't know anything about him, and I'm not even close to being a professional on the matter, but I just have the feeling that there's more knowledge and growth that he's possibly working on gaining here? Like he's pinpointing the surface of the situation, but there's actually more depth to it than that. I feel like a new realization will come to him if he's actually putting in the work for it. I couldn't do that kind of relationship. The financial support sounds great, and the positive support for your partner is great, but it's not ideal for me personally. If I'm a man who's dealing with a woman with emotional trauma and I emotionally manipulate her into accepting me sleeping with other women you'd never act like that was ok, so why does she get a pass? @@rutygut5000 Thats why the relationship should've ended preemptively, you don't convince him to accept you getting your physical needs met by someone else. Mind you he isn't the 1st boyfriend she's convinced to accept her sleeping with another man, by her own account she did that with one of her ex's and their roommate, convinced him to accepting an open relationship with the man who was rooming with them. Once is understandable but multiple times seems like a pattern, also as I've said physical trauma can mess with all future relationships. Would you accept me saying these same things if I was with a girl who had been sexually violated as a child, and just because she wasn't meeting my physical needs i convice her to let me sleep around even though it makes her unhappy? So because I'm unfulfilled i make her go through unhappiness to satisfy myself?
