Wish that it would charge all the batteries at once. Even if it was just a little slower of a charge time. Still very nice.

I made my own 6 port Ryobi supercharger out of 1x3's and 1/4 plywood with a 6 port extension cord with fuse I got 6 Single Ryobi 30mins fast charging charger I put em all together and I made it! I got me a descent supercharger. They're all charging 6 batteries, I got 1 9ah, 2 6ah, 1 4ah and 2 3ah they're all Lithium plus HP high capacity batteries.

Great review ,thanks! I wish they could make few nests on one side of this block for Ryobi 40V system and some kinda rocker switch for switching from 18V charging to 40V charging since they all can't be charged in a same time.

Even though it doesn't change all batteries at once , it will charge all the batteries over night without me having to get up flip batteries in the night since I need them ready for the next morning.

My preference, more than one individual charger not this super charger. Why, being as this super charger charges one battery at a time then switches to the next needing charge, thus for two batteries it doubles charge time. With two chargers both batteries charge at the same time thus (compared to this model) cutting charge time in half. On a job site where multiple batteries need charging, not waiting for one to complete its charge, yet being able to charge more than one battery at a time is very important.

I agree with your reasoning, but for my use (home DIY only) I like that I can put 6 batteries on this and not charge them all at the same time (one, then the next, etc.). I also like the smaller footprint of this versus multiple chargers as well as the reduced number of required outlets.

Detron Phillips: Hello Detron, your reasoning is very sound, thus with each of your points I completely agree. Your reasoning or mine depends on case usage. For a home user not under time constraints, having limited space and limited outlets your reasoning is excellent. On a job site having multiple batteries swapping needing charged my reasoning is equally as good. It is my hope those reading your and my reasoning will come away with something helpful.

What is meant by a "trickle charge?" Can you safely leave batteries on the charger for an extended period of time without worrying about them cycling and therefore shortening the lifespan of the battery?

@@shockjock35 right but I don't want to invest in 40v system just to have that and I have loads of Ryobi 18v batteries. Also there is only one battery with low wattage compared to the DeWalt powerstation unit that uses multiple batteries and has more power for longer run time.

Are there significant improvements over the P125, the earlier six battery charger? The indicator lights are different (the bright blue LED is gone) and it has the USB port. Other than that, it seems to be nearly the same. Am I missing an improvement?

Hopefully, they'll upgrade this to have an inverter inside it, with an outlet. IT'll change the world for us who live with ryobi batteries.

In my opinion the USB should have been on the other end cause when you hang it on a wall it wouldn't get dust and dirt in it, being that it would be on the bottom not the top it wouldn't have that problem.

This is why I have four single battery chargers. Shop for the tool and you get a battery and a charger. Tossed this, rather charge four at once.

I had the same problem and was about to return it to Home Depot - then I watched this video and realized two things...I didn't have the batteries in the correct port beginning with the one labeled 1 and the second labeled 2, also I didn't have them in so that I heard the click - if they are hanging somewhat loose then they haven't been engaged in the port correctly. Try giving them solid slap into the port - you should hear a click and they should not be loose, but solidly positioned in the charger. Mine is working now.

And I agreed, chargers are a important factor in getting the most use out of the cordless tools, I just added what I think it should also have if they ever update it... And we shouldn't also forget fast charging for their larger capacity high performance batteries and not just fast charging of their small batteries that they pointed out is a issue in the video as well... It's been a long time since Ryobi updated their chargers. So hopefully they're going to do something about it soon...

@ZeoCyberG
@ZeoCyberG 5 жыл бұрын
Don't have to, it applies to all but the smallest batteries. Same as with lack of multiple simultaneous charging, inability to fast charge anything larger than a small battery means most of the battery platform will take awhile to charge and that can add up if you're running multiple tools with multiple batteries... It all comes down to how long it takes if you have to wait for the batteries to charge...
