Unboxing, Demoing and Reviewing the RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless Handheld Sprayer.
The Ryobi Handheld sprayer is a great tool for covering large surface areas or having a need to cover multiple areas frequently. Setup was as easy as filling the canister up with your disinfectant/liquid of choice, attaching it to the sprayer and pressing the handle. Spraying provides a consistent and even spray from the nozzle. Unit itself is quiet when spraying.
There is no adjustable nozzle, so the spray pattern is set. The nozzle does rotate but that is only to remove the nozzle for cleaning.
I can see this being useful in classrooms, offices or high touch point areas that need constant disinfecting. If you are disinfecting a surface here or there, you might be better off just sticking to a regular manual spray bottle.
I used the sprayer for disinfectant for the time being, but I see myself using the sprayer in the summer to help applying detailing mists to my car when it comes time to clean the car, as well as in the summer for applying diluted neem oil to the various garden beds we have at the house. I think it would be neat if additional canisters were sold separately incase one wanted to use different liquids with ease.
Manual states that anything that is the consistency of water can be used, however anything thicker has the potential of clogging the nozzle.
There is some drippage from the nozzle after spraying so be mindful of that.
As always, the 18v system from Ryobi is amazing allowing me swap my batteries out between all my different 18v Ryobi products.

You CAN adjust the spray pattern. You first remove the metal nozzle tip completely, and then use a small flat head screw driver to "unscrew" the stream modifyer inside. Unscrewing about 2 or 3 turns makes a fairly concentrated stream with a mist of spread. However, removing the screw all together makes for the most potent and concentrated stream. When I tried it, it appeared to shoot about 10-20 feet. Pretty good as a water pistol when water gun fighting with the kids!

What?! Haha that's awesome! Not sure why I never saw this comment until now. I'll have to check it out. Seems more of a hassle than it's worth though. I just reviewed one of their newer sprayers which I like significantly more as the spray adjustment is the normal nozzle rotation found on most sprayers. The newer one also ends up shooting up to 18 feet.

Very cool! I think that it’s really good idea to use that for plants. It could come in handy when pretreating the carpet before shampooing it as well!

They make 1 or 2qt manual pump bottles for about 5 to 10 dollars. Why would you waste money ($70) on something that could break or sit around in the covers?

Since it isn’t a paint sprayer, I didn’t think it would be of use to me, until you said neem oil for spraying plants. Now I have to added to my want list

Is the motor powerful enough to spray out wood deck stain? or would the stain be required to be thinned down?

The stain would need to be thinned down. Also the spray pattern would not be consistent enough for a nice spray pattern. The sprayer lacks spraying power/consistency of a dedicated paint sprayer. I would not use it to spray paint or stain.

@@ajgreen868 You are correct. :) All you have to do is use a small flathead screwdriver under the sprayer and adjust to your desired spray pattern.

😂 I had to try it after you suggested it. Its a really weak stream with a high arch, only really shoots out about 2ft. Not fun enough for Squirt gun territory

What do you think about the quality of Ryobi products? Would you recommend their products over DeWalt?

Overall quality is great. I feel ryobi is more inclined towards the DIY/home owner market with a larger variety of tools for everyday use. Where as Dewalt is more on the contractor side with a smaller tool base.

Can this be used to spray Floor shine , and other liquid cleaners? I'm thinking that perhaps in my clog the nozzle?

It really comes down to how thick the cleaner is. If it's like pinesol and liquidy. You'll be fine

I-Am looking into this sprayer for 1 purpose. to fill with wd40 or equivalent lubricant spray. in your opinion do you think this sprayer would be capable to replace aerosol can ? thank you for taking your time and making videos

No, it would just end up spraying hot water. There's nothing to really keep the water hot enough to produce steam

Yes. I use this for post detailing spot free rinse. As long as what goes into the reservoir has the same consistency as water. You're good to go. Essentially don't put anything thick/sticky in it.

The manual states whatever you put in, has to be the same consistancy of water. But does not state you can't her stain. Just depends on how thick it is. This unit is more so for spraying disinfectant

Depends on the thickness of it. Anything that resembles the consistency of water would be fine. Anything thicker I'd use an actual paint sprayer.

To be honest. I'm not entirely sure. Judging by the fact that hydrogen peroxide is a similar consistency to water. I'd say yes.

No paints. Paint is unfortunately too thick and will clog the nozzle

It's not a paint sprayer. It's just a replacement for a handheld spray bottle for like Windex. There's a reason why the thing is only $20.

Good idea! In my newer video I started spraying larger pieces of cardboard as the pattern shows up better. Still trying to find the perfect medium.

I agree to an extent. If you are doing lots of surfaces. Like school desks for example, it has its worth. For simple tasks you're better off with a spray bottle

It's not horrible, it's come in handy at times but also not the best. Their newer model I checked out recently was a huge upgrade.

Is literally EVERYONE incapable of looking up anything themselves? If you think you're gonna find a cordless paint gun for $20, then stay away from paint.
