@@blank0po367 It's sort of implied they are because references to these games are made in the mainline games. Plus in Kenzan the MC Miyamoto Musashi's alias is Kazumanosuke Kiryu, and this guy Sakamoto Ryoma is just straight up Kazuma Kiryu.

@@deathbykonami5487 No, Ryoma wasn't, the actual Ryoma that we kill in the start of Ishin is actually killed by us, the protagonist (which is Kiryu, but it's actually his ancestor) is a member of the Shinsengumi

You can see how they were experimenting with stuff that would get more refined in Yakuza 0. Mulitple styles, stacked heat bars, dynamic theme etc.

Its kinda neat that they sometimes experiment through side games. Most are non-canon to the main modern story do its not much of an issue when they try to mix things up I say sometimes because Y7 is a HUUUGE departure but its a good game in its own right and shows how someone as physically weak as Ichiban can be worked into a main character. From rock bottom to the top

3:14 looks like the Rush parry is used with a Beast heat action here. The unarmed syle in this seems to be a combination of all 4 styles, with a few Komaki heat moves for Dragon of Dojima from Kiwami and one of the thug heat moves.

I’m used to playing import games on the Dreamcast and Famicom and stuff like that, but I think this is the first JP PS4 game that really makes me consider mailing over a Japanese copy. As if Yakuza wasn’t badass enough, this is on a whole other level.

There is a heat gauge. Top left corner. Work like a stack. Fill one level, it goes to level two and so on. And the Japanese letter change depend on the heat gauge level.
