I wonder if people made lists for levels you should download before it's not possible anymore. I have the game,but didn't play it a lot, so I don't know what and where to look for, but I'd love to have some nice levels on my console just in case I want to play it in the future.

@@LtksK I was thinking the same thing. There has to be somewhere some type of showcase that's entitled like "Mario Maker (1) Must Play Leves". Hopefully I'll be able to download as many great levels as I can before the Server ultimately shuts down...

I've heard the login issues are due to them shutting down some of the servers in preparation to stop them entirely. speaking of which, are you participating in the community attempt to clear all uncleared levels before the final shutdown?

I looked at some of the levels that still need clearing and there is an incomprehensible amount of garbage, I tried like 15 and was only able to clear 2, so I don’t know if I just got a bad handful but if it’s not a coincidence, it’ll be a challenge for the 0% team. Thankfully I think they have a ton of skilled players in there doing all the cleanup.

It hurts that, in less than 4 months, every last server will be shut down for this game. EVEN WORSE, Nintendo gave players a bugged version that doesn't easily latch onto those remaining servers, resulting in said error code. We need SMM2 Updates/SMM3 so bad.

Are you sure it's bugged? I have no trouble with my SMM1. It does take somewhat longer to start, maybe there aren't enough servers running the backend anymore, so it's just laggy depending on the time. There are people working on the homebrew side trying to keep the online services alive, I wouldn't be surprised if people aren't just trying to download the entire collection of SMM1 levels off Nintendo's servers. That would explain the intermittent timeouts and laggy server response.

@@dkosmari I heard that they reduced the number of authentications servers, so logging in at the beginning will take a few tries, but after that everything should work fine.

There is a community project dedicated to beating all levels that weren't beaten so far. They aim to clear all levels before smm1 is shut down. Maybe ryu could participate in some of the particularly hard ones

I think episode 200 should be like an endless run, you start with 100 lives and see how many runs you can do carrying over from the previous runs.

With the trouble loading, is it that the Wii U doesn’t want to boot, or is the disc not loading? It’s possible that it is either the disc is going bad or the disc drive is going bad. The drives can wear out over time.

0:56 Apparently that's because Nintendo is already abandoning more and more server resources before fully shutting down the MM1 servers. There's already some people working on making a custom server that houses all the current levels and somehow allows you to continue playing course world levels. But I am not familiar with console modding, so I can't tell you how.

The logon issues is just because Nintendo started shutting down authentication servers. You basically need to keep trying until you get one of the few working ones, though once you're in, you should be fine to play levels.
