Some great info here, but maybe do some more research on preferred temperatures. They prefer 72-75* F. They are not considered cold water fish anymore due to their genetic changes far removed from the common goldfish

This is a topic I am currently looking into, for it's mid-winter here in New England, and I purchased my first Ryukin about 2-3 months ago. He/She is a long tail, about 6" long, and currently calls a 30 gallon breeder tank home, with a 50W heater probe, thermometer bulb sitting at the bottom of tank keeping aquarium water at 66-72F in a 60-65F living room. Tank mates: 1 Wakin, 1 large common. No substrate, 1 large and 1 medium Whisper cascade filters on opposite ends of the tank. About a half teaspoon aquarium salt, 3 drops of algae control, and a weekly 1 gallon top-off and the tank stays crystal clear, so i'm hoping this is the dialed in temp for a happy Ryukin. (and mates!). 🐠

loved coming home tonight to see you made this video yes I have 3 together in a 30 gallon they are amazing one more beautiful then the other wonder how long 30 gallon will be good for they are pretty big already just love them.. my other tank black moors and two Ranchu ? fry and a telescope a bit bullish and will move the telescope with my 1 yr old telescope one day he is big and stays by my all the time hes amazing thank you look forward to your next video God bless

Hi so I just got a fish my my sisters boyfriend . It looks just like that and its name is Ruki. Ruki in a 10 gallon tank And my sister said he got bigger since they got him. But right now hes only about the size of a little tangerine like the mini oranges. My mom said they grow to fit their tanks . She said it wont get bigger of the tank isnt real big. Is that true?

You probably already researched this by now but it's bad to keep them in tanks too small since they will stay a bit small but that'll shorten their lifespan. :(
