Servilia finds Vitellia crying. Servilia believes that she is weeping because Sextus will die and tells her in this aria that her pity for Sextus is useless for he will still die. Unbeknownst to Servilia though, Vitellia is crying because she is the one who caused his execution.

La clemenza di Tito (The Clemency of Titus), K. 621, is an opera seria in two acts composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to an Italian libretto by Caterino Mazzolà, after Pietro Metastasio. The work premiered on 6 September 1791 at the Estates Theatre in Prague.
