In episode 18 of our series with Mark Ripley (260RIPS) on S&C TV, Mark is out and trying to catch up with a few foxes in advance of the lambing season...
It's a chilly morning as Mark settles in on the snow-covered hill to scan, but it's not long before he finds his target!
After that, it's out to another couple of farms who have reported unwanted visitors, where Mark makes good use of the Mauser M12 and HikMicro Alpex NV scope...
Enjoy the last foxing episode of the year!

Thanks, although nothing is disguised, gear that is used in the videos is supplied by sponsors mostly and is what pays for the production of the videos. Without them we wouldn’t be able to produce these videos 🤷🏻‍♂️😉

Hi Mark. With the quick detach picatinny mounts you use on your riflescopes to you have to re-zero when you change over scopes from your element scopes to nightvision type or do they usually hold zero?
@260rips
@260rips Жыл бұрын
Yes they hold zero 😉👍

Guess you wouldn't be going with the vixen in heat, that would confuse them? 🤔
@260rips
@260rips Жыл бұрын
Anything is worth a try you never know what will entice them in! When the ground is frozen it makes it harder for foxes to find earth worms, insects and other small food sources so most prey calls work well in such conditions. Foxes will be pairing soon so vixen in heat might well work, however, I know a lot of people seem to have a lot of luck with this call, I’m still yet to pull in a fox with it!

I still don't get it...Foxes eat mice, rats and so on Why pest control on rats and than "foxing"?
@260rips
@260rips Жыл бұрын
Foxes do indeed prey on rodents which is a good thing although their main diet is insects, however foxes are also very much opportunists and will also kill song birds, gamebirds and poultry. They will also take lambs during the spring which is the main reason they are controlled on these farms 👍
