Why not use the redshift instead of the Moonlight? It's just better at regular attack but not as good for the charged attack

not only is it better for regular attack in pure damage numbers, but the fact its coral damage means it ignores all defense stats, which matters for a few enemies and still means that the charged attack is kinda just better against pve, not that it matters since either one will aoe oneshot the trash mts, although the moonlight is the classic fromsoft thing so i dont blame them for using it

The redshift also has higher direct damage adjustment at 190 compared to the moonlights 175 which is huge for hitting after a stagger. Its just a direct upgrade in almost every way. @@ethanhealy453

I think because he was running the liberator of rubicon ending and you can't unlock redshift until at least NG+, I think if he'd done NG+ and ++, he would have included those missions.

Doubt this will be seen, but I tested the basho's melee damage increase for the pulse blade against the arms with the lowest melee specialization (can't remember which ones they were). With the lowest melee spec, the pulse blade dealt slightly over 500 damage to the training AC with each hit. Meanwhile with the Basho arms, the pulse blade dealt 1280 damage per hit. Stagger damage also seems to be affected but I could't tell exactly by how much, but the point is, the difference between low melee spec and max melee spec is actually slightly more than double the damage.

@@Playirime you can also manually purge weapons with weight control, which allows you to have a fist or two in missions like escape, and illegal entry

Did you test with a 100 melee spec arm? I think Melander has about 100. I always expected 100 was baseline for melee damage while less than 100 is a reduction to damage dealt. I doubt it is exactly a 1:1, maybe even a 2:1 scale. My best guess is that lowest melee spec is a 15-30% reduction to damage dealt and basho is 25-50% bonus to melee damage dealt.

24:30. There is an S-rank calculator. But in general, its do the mission as fast as possible while incurring the lowest possible repair and ammo costs. If there are bonus objectives, theyll help extend the time you can take to complete the mission.

Attack The Watchpoint also has a second quick route to take to get the drop on the second line of defence and turrets. Over the tall block in the middle of the area. You can dive upon the turret that is closer to the Watchpoint area, and then chase the second turret via going along the walls to get behind it, before it fully turns around to shoot you. Swinburne after accepting his bribe can die instantly to any hit. Doesn't have to be strong. Attack the Refueling Base's S-Rank is highly dependant on enemies killed on the way to the generator, but damage taken is also very important. Speed has it's influence too. It demands a piece of everything.

some parts you needed but didn't mention: alula boosters laser dagger coral oscillator Many of the missions you list as impossible or extremely difficult are nearly trivialized by these. Dagger in particular for when there are many enemies is massive, because it has basically no cooldown.

Tried the laser dagger before and I seem to have underestimated it. Funny thing about the Alula boosters is I didn't do any of the tutorial missions, and never knew the Alula was that good until Chrigght's booster video came out.

For the first mission most of my progress towards regular S-ranking was hopping onto the side protrusions of the helicopter and slamming it with the pulse blade, rifle shots do nothing anyway. Maybe if you deplete all your rifle ammo pointlessly while traversing the map you can also punch it but ammo costs could kick in.

23:52 eliminate the dozer Faction is possible melee only. I just completed it using the plasma thrower and the dagger as my weapons. I used the Nachtreiher helmet, Hal 826 chest piece, VP46-D arms, and the Hal 826 for legs. For the internals I used The Gills booster, Talbot Fcs, and the Ling-Tai generator. I’d say it took me roughly 30 mins to complete, but that’s because I had the goal of trying to do it taking 1000 or less. Initially I used a very light build similar to what he used, but my regular build with come tweaks felt more comfortable. All in all I wouldn’t say it’s impossible and definitely doable to get S rank on that mission with melee only.

Quad legs with the whippy one are pretty good, that with the pulse blade is how I beat Ibis for my melee playthrough.

I recomend the VP-67LD laser dagger. I hate how good it is. Quick recharge, great damage, long combo, and the charge is insanely fast.

just S-ranked Attack the Refueling Base using the laser dagger pile bunker combo, it was honestly luck because they got themselves stuck in the corner, plus if you land 3 clean punches in it seemed to stagger them by itself with the dagger to help out if i missed, i think i might upload it because it felt real cool when it happened.

I struggled forever to s rank this with melee, until I just happened to stop and kill ONE random LC on the way to the end, just before the bridge i think. Doing this I bladed those bastards like normal, both in under 60 sec (cause doing it 20 times made it simple) and FINALLY got the s rank. So I have to conclude that either tapping that specific LC made a difference or accumulating some bonus pay (for killing dudes) made the difference. I say this since I literally timed it without killing anything but the two at end with under 2:30 (iirc) and still didn't s rank it.

Missed opportunity to run KIKAKUs when using a blade you can melee cancel with. It's more of a PVP-centric tactic, but it's still a useful movement tool especially when repositioning against bosses.

I tried it and I didn't seem to find any use for it in PVE. It seems to be a very good tactic of PVP because you're throwing off real thinking people. That mix up just isn't as effective in PVE.

Eliminate the dozer faction is hard? Just use the explosive thrower and plasma whip. They serve realitivley the same function, but the explosive thrower will deffinetly be the mvp.

You can use the Pulse Shield expansion to completely negate the suicide drones in Take Back the Uninhabited City. Use it right at the base of the tower and it will take no damage whatsoever. Also on Attack on The Refueling Base, destroying the LC and the fuel containers (i didn't destroy the ones below the bridge) i think are mandatory to get S rank, took me 5 tries to get it. I got it with the Laser Dagger and Chainsaw with Kikaku booster and SanTai generator. I think you really underestimate the Laser Daggers capabilities, with it's quick cooldown you can always stay on top of enemies and the Chainsaw does comparable damage to the pilebunker while being WAY more reliable, almost no staggered ACs can survive a full charge from the chainsaw. Go for a stagger, rev the chainsaw and if it doesn't kill use assault armor to finish them off. can even use Assault Armor to stagger the enemy and get a free chainsaw.

You don't actually need to destroy the fuel tanks in the Refueling Base mission. When I got the S Rank for it, I got it by just rushing to the end.

It is a relief seeing this since I'm all about that lightweight melee. I find it really weird that you struggled on some that were easy for me, but are all buttered up for ones I struggle on. The first mission, Crash Landing, I was definitely melee-centric in getting my S-rank. Not as a strict challenge run though. I love the BU-TT/A (I've been calling it buta, japanese for pig) for its direct hit double slash damage. Attack the Refueling Base was a 2-try S rank for me. Did you do the bonus objective? I did. The mystery of the nonsense requirements for S-rank is really frustrating. I'm inspired by seeing you handle CEL 240 so well. I need to bring melee against it once more now.

Butt blade has a special place in my heart. It's so damn good. But more importantly how the FUCK did you 2-try Attack the Refueling base. You are a god among men. I did do the fuel tanks, but I don't even know if the points make up for the time or not.

That stupid smart cleaner......i used a tetrapod with plasma thrower and bunker. Hovered above him and hit with plasma thrower. Landed in front of him and charge bunked when stunned. This was the only mission i used the thrower on. After that i was able to go in with plasma blade/bunker and with careful boosting was able to hit/run his front spot very easily. I foundbthat getting slightly off the ground allowed me to consistantly hit the front box as i boosted under his arms and the like. As for the ice worm.....yeah not trying it without the needle - for s rank at least.....but i do know that if you have 45 mins to spare you can beat it with just the pulse blade. You just have to pick and choose your windows of opportunity. I doubt an s rank i even possible with the needle or something similar to bring down the shield quickly. That said, i s ranked it with just the needle and bunker. Nothing else.

First of all: Nice job on doing this! I’m trying to 100% AC rn and S ranking can be pretty hard, also I’m surprised you didn’t use the coral oscillator because it’s charge attack is a wide sweep attack and is probably good for taking out many enemies, or not using the dagger because it’s cooldown is SUPER low, I’m a little surprised you didn’t like the ice worm fight but that’s your opinion and that’s fine. Although I can’t help but love it when rusty says those one liners. 23:02 what is the music you use? I know I’ve heard of this but I can’t remember what it is called, you should make a playlist for the music you use cause a lot of them are bangers. One last thing, your commentary has definitely gotten better! I also liked the editing on this one

I’m shocked the Laser Dagger isn’t used more, it’s cooldown is so short it might as well not have one. The charged attack is good at building stagger and the light combo deals a shit load of direct hit damage. Super lightweight, near non-existent cooldown, good impact damage and direct hit adjustment, what’s not to love?

I have some information to share with you regarding the first mission. I have spent probably 20+ hours on the 1st mission as I am working on a no hit run and yes the first mission this is the hardest mission of the first 2 chapters, (my route is telling me that it will include chapter 3 as well). There is an opening sequence you can do that if you do it right and it goes to 1 of 4 places on its first move you can get the equivalent of 8 sword hits. That is more than half the AP of the chopper in the first 6 swings you do with the sword. There is also certain positions where you can some pretty safe attacks and not get hit at all. To this day I have completed the 1st mission entirely hitless like 3-4 times and beat the chopper hitless 10-12 times. Put7y6vldZw?t=241 Edit: Also, I appreciate the hard work you put into this and acknowledge that this is a difficult challenge, I do feel the need to mention that I have a hard time calling the moonlight a melee weapon. Not to go through all of it again but do you think not being able to use moonlight or similar weapons would have made more missions impossible.

Amazing information. I totally understand the moonlight argument, but my entire basis for what counts as a melee weapon is the OST chip that increases their damage. Also, I believe about 4-6 missions in the easy tier would move up to difficult if I didn't use the moonlight. I only discovered later on how much better the BUTT blade is (for most situations), but I was too short on time to redo missions.

@@Playirime Thats fair, It falls into the category with all the laser sword weapons as well so I get it. I did look at the calculator for getting S rank and according to that it is impossible. It should be noted that doing the first mission without getting hit once still leaves you 6k in debt for damage (getting shot down by the satellite in the intro cinematic). So it says you have to beat the mission without getting hit in 8 minutes which is really fast. My normal route takes me just under 4 minutes just to get to the heli, then it does its intro thing that takes a while. At least according to the calc it seems impossible. Maybe one of these days I will sit down and try to do it.

I did a NG++ route using only melee weapons, chainsaw + Pile bunker combo works quite well, as long as you can get the target cornered. The charged chainsaw and charged bunker both almost guarantee a stagger (unless they have shields up), allowing the other to do full stagger bonus damage. The oscillator is also great for wiping out multiple enemies and AIs tend to allow the charged attack to hit, allowing for easy stagger build up.

I did that too, surprisingly the hardest parts were the coral destruction, the mining ship ambush and the final boss, everything else was a piece of pie, Ibis was done flawless too lol

@@PlayirimeZeroLenny used punches, kicks, and did use the stun needle for shield only (but if you can punch the face when it stays still flopped on the floor, and not get bounced back by the drills, then that'll mean punch only on shields can work but for stupid long of downtime between each chance to hit). BUT, punch ONLY is impossible. ZeroLenny needed kicks and 1 Assault Armour burst to BARELY deal enough dps to kill on phase 3's dps check.

There is a glitch I keep running into in the 'Survey the Uninhabited Floating City' mission. After you deactivate the 2nd beacon thing, if you go too fast, the game doesnt activate the trigger to expand the area to let you get to where the 3 MTs ambush you. I have no idea why, and I have no idea how, but I'm sharing it here.

Huh, that's a weird stance you have on the Ice Worm. I would rate it as my second favourite boss after Smart Cleaner. I actually love gimmick fights, because that's where From Software can really design a challenge the way they want it, while it also feels fair. Like you pointed out, Walter can leisurely shuffle backwards faster than the fastest assault boost. Plenty of other enemies have totally bullshit input reading. Then there is Mr. "I got so butthurt I merged with ALLMIND to kill you" who constantly teleports behind you. In general almost all AC fights in AC6 feel artificially difficult due to the enemy ACs being given bullshit abilities, especially compared to how the AI was in AC4/4A. But these two bosses in particular don't do any of that - it feels totally fair. My boss ranking goes Smart Cleaner > Ice Worm > Snailteus > Enforcer > Balteus > Juggernaut >>> bin juice >>> all the other bosses.

AC fights definitely feel jarring. They could have made it more difficult but more consistent, rather than sudden actions to avoid damage altogether. The Ice Worm is definitely not a problem, that's just my fault for doing challenge runs. But I will say even without challenge running, it was not a fun fight.

Tips: Use the laser dagger. It has the best recharge rate Kill most enemies and destroy all fuel storage tanks on attack the refueling base Kill some enemies in the way of crash landing, and try to keep a close distance to the helicopter after attacking because that might make you able to attack again before it runs away Try to take the least amount of damage on eliminate the doser faction
