The S1100 AC Smart Charger quickly replenishes batteries with its impressive 100W power output. When using the S1100 AC Smart Charger to charge a Spektrum Smart battery, the battery’s type, cell count, charge current rate, and capacity are all set automatically. The charging process is simple: Just plug in your Smart battery. The correct charging parameters are sent from the battery’s microchip memory through the IC3™ connector’s data wire to the charger. The S1100 AC Smart Charger begins correct, safe charging automatically following the battery’s built-in parameters. Because the charger is backwards-compatible with older EC3™ connectors, you can charge non-Smart batteries like you usually would.

Hello, I just got the S150 charger and 3s 5000mah 50c battery combo with the adaptor. I also purchased the battery checker xbc100. Does this make sense plug the battery into the S150 via ec3/ec5 apaptor, then plug balance cable into balance port of the xbc100 and then essentially makes a s1100 charger with the visual of the charge? I did it and it seemed too work and gave real Time charge percentage etc data. Also the charge current is that what the charger starts at in amps? If battery is programmed at higher then charger output does it default to max charger output? Hope this makes sense.

Just bought this.. it charges fine and evenly.. but when I plug in my balance lead on my 3S Spectrum battery. It doesn't recognize it

@@ramtrucks721 Make sure you have the polarity correct on the lead. Negative leads all the way to the right of the plug. Hope that helps!

I remember when I first started in RC we just had NiCd batteries and you charged it with a charger that had a 15 minute timer on it and if you wanted to discharge you hooked it up to a bunch of auto lightbulbs you wired together. Man have things really progressed. I have to get one of these.

Great video, need to get it out on KZfaq. I’m using the the S150 as it was all I could afford at the same time I bought my plane, and batteries. Been waiting for the S2100. But I will get this now. The S2100 later

With this new update will you be able to change Temperature value from Fahrenheit to Celsius on the S2100 as you cant do this now, in the UK we use Celsius? thanks

Wow! I bought this charger with a couple of 3s 2200 smart batteries for my new plane but started having buyer’s remorse because it wasn’t the G2. But THEN I saw how proprietary the G2’s seemed to be and that the G2 charger only charges G2 batteries but THIS charger CAN charge older type batteries with a balance port.And just as I began to wonder if this charger would charge my XT 60’s I paused and grabbed one and THEN when I pressed play, that literally was where you started talking about the XT60 adaptor! I say again, WOW! No buyer’s remorse here 🤓😎

I got the new version charger and I love it. But I also bought 2 s2 5000 batteries and one of them already has a fault code showing that it overheated with only 2 charge cycles on the battery. Any idea if I did something wrong?

That codes tripping point is fairly conservative in reality, but if it consistently is being tripped, it is a good sign that a model you are using it in is drawing more amps then the battery can handle and is getting hot. If that is the case, try a higher C rating battery.

I have a S1200 G2 Smart Charger and I have a question. The 3 settings : "Charge", "Discharge" and "Storage". The Problem: I set the S1200 to "Discharge" to reduce the charge on a fully charged battery I did not get to use on my flying day. The Issue was that after a while, maybe after 1/2 hr it pulled the voltage down to 2 volts and I was alarmed and stopped it. I almost ruined a perfectly good battery because I did not push the arrow that last third time down to "Storage". I only went as far as Discharge without knowing it, the battery started to discharged down to zip but I caught it 1/2 hour later. This has been my experience but I luckily caught it at 2 volts. My Comment is a warning about using the "Discharge" setting as I did and almost ruined my battery. The "Instruction Manual" does not show how to use the settings and what they mean. (thrown in the box to fulfill a regulatory requirement .) They need to do a proper DFU (Directions For Use) . Your video is very good in that it shows how to set the "Storage" task but do not address, demonstrate, or use the "Discharge" Task. I have not been able to find an answer anywhere despite hours of research on the Spektrum S1200 G2 Smart Charger. So with all that said, here is my Question: Question #1: In Settings: TASK: There are 3 choices: Charge, Discharge, and Storage. What is the technical difference between two settings of " Storage" and "Discharge"? I know what Storage does. It will bring up the voltage or lower the voltage to the presets you set with the XBC100 Smart Checker. Question #2: What is the purpose of the "Discharge Setting" and how do you use it, Why would you use it? If I had pressed the Storage setting as I explained at the top here, there would not have been a problem. I hope you can explain it to me since I haven't been able to find any explanation or actual official guidance on this TASK called "Discharge" when they should at least have a warning about its use.

I have a question with this S1100. It takes almost 1.5 hrs to storage discharge from my fully charged 4S 3300 non-smart battery b/c I noticed this only discharges at -0.6 amp rate. Is it better for me to just manually discharge at -3.3 amp rate to just get the charger to finish quicker, and for the fan to run at far less time and thus better preserve the charger in the long run?

Hi Peter, feel free to discharge the battery as fast as the charger will allow, which on a 4S pack may very well be 0.6amps on that charger. Discharging takes a lot more energy to perform then charging and most chargers do not have a very powerful discharge circuit.

i think the dx5 pro should have bluetooth and wifi. Also you should be able to use the dashboard app. Dji is so rich because they understand people and learn from apple . people want to use there phones with there gadget ! it would be so cool to have my galaxy note 20 sitting on top of my dx5 pro with a rpm and speedometer!

Hello Tom, I just purchased two S2100 smart chargers, and after watching your video, ordered the programming cable. Can you tell me will I have all the features of the new S1100 charger, or just a subset of the new features after updating? Question 2: Why doesn't the new smart chargers have a "balance charge" selection? Enjoyed your home video! Regards!

Hey Ralph! Once the update is out we plan on having all the features to be synonymous. Balance charging wise, it is Smart enough to know if and when you need to balance charge, :) Essentially if you plug in a balance plug it will balance charge, if you do not then it will ask if you are ok with not balancing and you can say yes or no. Hope that makes sense! :)

There 2 S1200 now actually. One is DC and the other is AC. THere are many differences, from power output to built in features. Is there one in particular you would like to compare?

Interestingly, on the Spektrum website, they show 2 batteries connected to an S2100 with only the mains connected.

ps i really need a break down of traction and drive modes. also for 250 dollars, DX5 pro should have a color screen. o and why is it so big , heavy, and bulky? you can get a flysky noble for 160 dollars with a color screen . it small , sleek, futuristic, and light. also you can get a samsung galaxy A51 with a octa-core , and a 1080 x 2400 super amoled display for 230. good thing im not CEO i tell you i wouldn't have it! , I wouldn't have it!

☠️BLACK BARON☠️ 1:16 I have studied your new IC3 (EC3 = Non-Smart) and IC5 (EC5 = NON-Smart) connectors. My question for engineers and techies. Why do you need another extra cable in between the big +/- ones on the battery if you have already !7! cables available on the balancer plug for a 6S LiPo? Is it really necessary to "invent" another cable for that purpose? The "Balancer Plug" is only used for charging purposes anyway. So WHY another third cable in between the big +/- ones?

It is part of the Smart Chip inside the battery. This communicates battery info to the charge and esc when using Spektrum Smart Batteries and equipment

I have 5000mAh 3S 11.1V Smart G2 30C; SPMX53S30H5 battery and it doesn’t read the battery stats (charge rate, capacity, and charge time remaining) The batteries don’t have the balance lead, but supposedly unnecessary for these G2s. I’m really disappointed right now.

@@SpektrumRCvideos yes, new out the box, not updated yet, I’m working on it. Total pain in the a$$ though, I don’t have a laptop. I wish the seller had warned me and perhaps offered to update it before mailing it. The price of online shopping convenience I suppose.🤦‍♂️

I really dislike my s2100 charger. The track pad is a nightmare if you have large finger trying to push the middle button. Why is it IC3 and not IC5 is beyond me...most things running 2 packs are IC5. With that IC3 to IC5 adapter it is a rats nest with the balance plug (forget about trying to put lipo's in a charging bag at the track). The smart tech is very nice but the charger physical interface is garbage.
