Quick question, do you know when the SMART batteries auto storage timer starts and if it ever starts over? For example, does it start counting down right after it's charged, and then reset anytime you use the battery, like flying, or plugging into the smart checker? Or is it just a hard timer once you charge and after 48 hours for instance, it starts discharging to storage voltage no matter what?

So here is MY experience, owning a small arsenal of SMART Batteries (I have 14 of them, all great BTW!) I am pretty sure the timer restarts when you finish any fluctuation in voltage. For example, at the end of a charge cycle, or at the end of a discharge cycle that didn’t deplete the cells all the way down. If I land at, say, 3.86V per cell, two days later they’re all sitting at 3.80V per cell again.

Ok thanks! That’s what I was kinda assuming so just was curious. I have 5 SMART batteries now, trying to convince myself to get the S2100 dual charger now lol, but my Venom Duo is working great still ☺️

That S2100 is pretty awesome in a much smaller footprint. They kind of all charge the same, but the smart chargers make it so easy. No setting up anything. Once when you buy the battery and never again. Just plug in and press start! And when the new firmware comes out you just plug in and they auto charge. SMART makes it where we can be dumb and just fly.

Ya this SMART stuff is pretty great to not have to worry about as much anymore! Hoping they come out with a few more battery sizes, really need a 3S 2600. One more random question for ya, can I do forward programming on an AR637T with my DX9 Black?

You can absolutely do Forward Programming on an AR637T with a DX9 black.

How long will it take to charge my 5000mah 30c 3s and what should I charge it at

For a 3S Pack you won’t charge more than 9A at the peak 100W output of the charger. At a 1C charge rate (5A) you’ll charge your pack in about an hour. At the peak output of 9A, or just under 2C, it will take around 30 minutes. I normally charge at 1.5C, which will be 7.5A for a 5000mAh pack.

When it shows the battery temperature in Fahrenheit (°F), is it possible to change it to Celsius (°C) as we use in Europe?

Thanks for the tutorial! I bought a 4S lipo smart battery 5000/30C. And I setup for auto storage (48h) with my smart charger 3 weeks ago. But today impossible to access to smart battery settings? I would to change it to 72h . Do you have this issue ? I tried to unplugged battery and smart charger. Nothing. Same issue. Thanks

Pierre LEFORT I haven’t had that problem. Do you have a SMART Battery Checker? You may have better results using the checker

Can we set up a cut off with this smart charger and avoid going down at 0% for the lipo?

Does it balance charge in the charge mode?

Yes, first it performs a quick charge, and when that completes it shifts over to balance charge. The charge cycle is not completed until the cells are balanced. In shorter terms, every charge is a balance charge. 👍
