This episode I cover installing the 110L fresh water tank, 12V pump, mains inlet, shower mixer and most of the plumbing.
My water tank is custom made for the Mercedes Sprinter LWB and is shaped to the chassis. I bought this from Atlas Tanks in Moffat Heads, Sunshine Coast, Australia.
All the plumbing piping, T-Joins, elbows, adapters etc are from Camec in Archerfield, Brisbane, Australia.
I was waiting on the grey water tank to be completed from Atlas Tanks, and was also waiting on an Oxygenics Fury RV shower head from America. I will install these and the kitchen sink in Plumbing Pt. 2.

Doing the plumbing was a fun step and wasn't too hard to learn (similar concepts to electrical). Using the JG (John Guest) connector methods made it very simple also. I recommend installing tanks underneath your van to take full advantage of this space and save space inside. Hii Jaz Really nice video ....just a question that popped up in my mind Does the tank get Damaged When a Speed Breaker or A high ground come in between roads..cause it definitely decreases the ground clearance of the van right? pls do reply if you see

@@Himanshusingh-ef2xm It looks like it's the same level as the body skirt. I'm getting ready to start a van build with a similar design (Plumbing) except for I'm putting the tank inside the van so it don't freeze and crack in winter.

Nice work! My biggest concern is the whimpy straps you used @3:30 to support the tank. I’m pretty sure that they’re waay to light duty. You should have a look at the factory mounts for fuel tanks, etc. Especially considering that it’s probably going to weigh plenty when full, and think of the “live loads” while moving, sudden stops, etc. with all the water sloshing around.

Pretty impressive for a first timer. Been plumbing RVs for over 30 years now. Right now I build Class B motor homes, Sprinter and Transits. I have never been so appreciative of the vehicle lift in our shop as I was while watching you working on your back under that Sprinter. That can be a tight squeeze.

Agreed. Never thought to use 2 bits together to bridge the gap. To anyone who has tried to drill a larger hole over a smaller hole without a center, it can be a very sloppy and tedious effort...:-(

Yeah that was brilliant, I would usually use the bigger hole-saw bit to make a cut out on a bit of wood and find a way to clamp it down- usually a real pain. This is so simple this way.

I'm going to remember the tip about using two holesaws on one arbour, previously in similar situations I've screwed a sheet of ply to whatever I need to enlarge the hole. I prefer your idea, plus it works where you can't screw anything around the hole.

I think i am gonna start my caravan project somehow. My decision was to convert a Fiat Ducato or a Citroen Jumper van. But i think Mercedes will be a good option for us as we are 4 people.

Hope you don't go in any cold areas because your water pump will freeze and burst outside. Also you will have heat loss and heat transfer by zipping the 2 water lines together. If you are in a cold area you can also use heat tape to keep water lines from freezing. There are a lot of right angle connectors when the hose if flexible and can bend it and not take the chance of water leaks with so many connects - besides they can get costly. You need to insulate your water lines separately! Thanks for sharing your videos - Im not trying to be critical - just helpful!

What about the watertank, i'm afraid that could freeze... I'm mostly going to cold plaes as sierra nevada alps, pyrenees. I need to find a solution to that...

Excellent suggestions mate, thanks a lot for that. Definitely does make sense to segregate the cold and hot water lines haha! and to insulate them does mate sense. I will see how it goes and if I need to make adjustments I will do, Cheers!

@@michaelappelmans1298 We have the same problem so EVERYTHING was mounted inside the van with the exception of the grey water holding tank.
