I has a 1993 WR 200. Bike was unstoppable. It just ran forever.

I bought one of these new back in the day. It was great! The perfect KDX slayer

These were big in the UK, still are today. Everyone had one. All of them got stolen. It was the number one bike that was stolen in the UK. We had had a choice of white, blue or yellow plastics.

I had the previous Yamaha Dt200. Perfect machine in every way. I always loved the WR but couldn't afford the upgrade.

I loved the idea of the DT200 but it was unobtainium here :(

Hand no interest when I saw the bike in the showroom back then but ten years later I would hear how fun they are . Nice job restoring it looks great !

GPX TSE250 (230) is the DT230 in a KTM frame, pretty close cousin.

That is nuts....I'll have to take a closer look!

Thankfully, I’m one of the 10%. Yes. Street legal, and a bit more exciting than the also great DT200R! Great vid! [edit] Here in Australia. 👍

Those were cool little bikes , I remember them . Seams like I also remember they had the same type of big intake holes in the position skirt that the blaster 200 and the rest of that series of motor had that was prone to breaking if not regularly changed out .

I had a sponsored ride on one of these in 92 in New Zealand. This bike was a weapon heavy yes but felt light, the wide tank took getting used to but the XR280,KDX200 and anything else in that class couldn't keep up with it .the 200 class in NZ was refused to as the WR200 class

You guys were so lucky to get numerous years of this bike!

They were huge in Australia. All the 200cc bikes were. In fact I ride a Beta 200 now at 55. Perfect capacity

Betas are amazing! The 200 came out after I bought my Sherco 125 so I have not had the chance to own one.

Ive heard of it...I saw them brand new in a dealership! I want to get one and make it my daily driver. I think its a much more capable machine offroad then the KDX200.
@jameshardin4326Ай бұрын
I had 1 .was a bit faster than a yz 125 in a drag race and easier to handle in the woods. Loved it

Been there done that , Yamaha. Great bike for it , now we have trial bike riders doing the extreme enduro on the modern dull power 2 strokes. Wr 200 ideal.

My girlfriend rides a DT230 Lanza with WR200 jetting. It's very tingy on a closed throttle but goes like a cut cat when you give it fuel. It has that "ahem" as you open the throttle when you ride it quite slowly, too. I for one would love to see more stuff like this. 90's Japanese trail and enduro 2 stokes were brilliant. Whats your address? I like that pipe. I'm in NZ, no panic. I ride the odd Vinduro on a CRM 250R and a few WR's turn up. They're the bees knees for me, I've always got on with Yamahas. Thoroughly enjoyed and totally related to your video, thank you.

I remember those from back in the day, never raced one. Rode a yz250wra but the 200 would have been better for my type of riding. Funny the Austrians have s counter balance in their engines now(2017) Great bike! Keep the modern classics alive
@SpringtailsolutionsАй бұрын
Thanks! I have a few more to share too
