"I'm never going to have anyone other than Dimitri as my friend" not "Dimitri is the only one who doesnt make fun of me" or "Dimitri is my only friend" Something about the way he said it tells me he didn't really want to be friends with Dimitri, but he had no choice because Dimitri was the only one who didnt judge him. He quickly forgot how he went into Cobra Kai, Miguael standing up to a bully in defense of a friend. I think these scenes are intentional, and I hope Hawk does eventually realize that the path he is walking down is a dangerous one.
