I am pleased that atleast there have been and still are people in far away lands who know the essence of all things associated with our age-old hindu philosophy and these developments are atleast waking up the sleeping hindu who is quite oblivious of the glory of Indian philosophy. The indian (Hindu) since the last 300 years has discarded it's philosophy taking it as a piece of coal but which the wise and learned people recognised as a piece of diamond. The value of knowledge encased in our scriptures is meant only for the learned, wise and educated people.

Oh holy child, your understanding of Sanskrit language is deep & delightful! You know well not only the meaning of words & their connotations, but also the purity of primal sounds & silence. It is so nice of you to participate in the Festival of Bharat & share with us your valuable understanding not just of Sanskrit but of the divinity of mankind too. God bless you & your family! Etymology of Sanskrit / Samskritham Sanskrit = Sans + Krit Sans < Sams < Samas < Samans < Saman < Samam (Refined) "Krit" which is the root for "Script" (Writting) Krit < Krith < Kirith < Kiruth < Kiruthu < Kiruku < Kirukal < கிறுக்கல் < கிறு + கல் < கீறு + கல் (கல்லில் கீறுவது - scribbling on rock - writing on rock/stone) கீறு < கீற் / கீர் / கிர் - it is the sound produced when we scribble on stone. Sanskrit = Samam+Kirukku = Refined script (of Prakrit language). Prakrit is the spoken language, whereas Sanskrit created for religious language.

Lay man trying to learn from lay man. Hmm... there is nothing wrong with this except, there are really powerful scholars throughout the Samskrita Universities in South India. Normally known as "Samskrita PaThashaala" these have teachers who can formally teach you the method of chanting. Most temples (even in the west) if they are of southern origin, require that a "Purohita" or "Pandita" must have graduated from such a University. If their job is to perform duties of a Purohita, then they must have specialized in "Agama" shastra. If they are academic scholars then they would have specialized in "Nyama", "VyakaraNa" "Mimamsa" etc. It is better to begin with those who have a vast academic background and introduce shloka in their correct context. This type of "beginner" to "beginner" conversation exists due to lack of the basic concept about "Samskrita PaThashaala" and how subjects are taught, formally... from mundane to mundane does not help anyone.
