Thanks for the ideas and great camera work on the suspensions showing the actual parts involved. The paint jobs look great as well and being able to enjoy the vehicle instead of, like you said, paying close to 100k and worrying about scratching it.

Hello Cal, at 6:25 in the video you mention longer struts. Do you have any more info on this? Thanks.
@tufftrails5 ай бұрын
Yes, a bit complicated but I will do my best. some 10 to 12 years ago many Tracker guys were looking for cost effective solutions for suspension modifications. I am sure that you have heard of the 2" budget lift. They discovered that some GM Vehicles had Struts that might work... In my case, I used the Grand Prix Rear Struts on one of our front ends. There is some complicated modifications that need to be done to the Strut ears so that they will accommodate for alignment issues. This is the link that will give you all the info you need; www.zukioffroad.com/tech/longer-struts-for-your-geo-tracker-suzuki-sidekick/ Hope this helps Thank you for your question.

@@tufftrails any issues with the cv's due to the extra travel?

So far no, but please remember, I am not some adrenalin amped Rock Crawler show boating on the trails. All of our Trackers and Sidekicks are "Tools", they have a function and a purpose and our upgrades and modifications simply result in a better tool.@@BustedKneeAdventures

I really think affordable went out the door with them.. went from picking them up for $500 and now multiple thousands.
@tufftrails9 ай бұрын
You are so right, I've had mine for 10 -12 years now, with the most expensive costing $1800.00. I think what persuaded me to do this series is the current cost of a new Jeep, or a new Bronco, or Toyota Landcruiser, Range Rover or even a damn Silverado pickup costing $100K . It changes the game, If I paid a $100K for a Bronco, I would never take it off-road for fear of scratching it...or dinging it somewhere... I don't think the value is there anymore with the newer stuff. So let's squeeze a little more life out of our budget rigs and still have some fun. Thank You for your comment

In 2:30mins in the video, Is the rim wide 5.5x15?
@tufftrails6 ай бұрын
The wheels are original Geo Tracker wheels from an 1989 Geo Tracker. so the wheel is probably 15" in diameter x6" wide.(15X6) The tires in this shot are 31x10.50x15 also this application has a 2" wheel spacer to bring the wheels and tire out more. I hope I answered your question.
@offroad63094 ай бұрын
Yes they use a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Same as jeep, ford and dodge used to use. The rim diameter can be 15" or 16"
