The search radar I worked on also had a bolt on antenna on top. It looked nothing like the one in this scenario but it was indeed an IFF device. The antennas in rear of the older missile is likely a rear reference antenna. It tells the missile where it came from so it doesn’t end up turning and striking it’s launch platform. The old SM-1 missile had the same only it was a tiny window mounted in the body of the missile.

It would be interesting if they would modify the HARM to include a first-stage booster from the RIM-67 so it could be launched from ground launchers. The first stage would lift the HARM to altitude and increase its range to hit radar sites deeper behind enemy lines without endangering a launch aircraft.

Have you ever thought about launching your harms 180 degrees from each other i.e. one plane far north and one plane far south as I noticed the targeting radar is very directional. same with the tomahawks as they are more like to be fired form the new missile ballistic subs converted to tomahawk use.

CAP, A suggestion for naval battle if the Soviet union didn’t collapse there would be 12 Kirov battle cruisers and 12 Slava cruisers. Story behind the battle first turkey is allies with the USSR in this timeline resulting in the USSR being able to move their ships in and out of the Black Sea which explains why Russia is able to move its naval accents to flank the US carrier group. Why is an American carrier group in the baltic Sea well let’s just say that the carrier launched aircraft to perform a bombing run on a uranium production facility like in top gun maverick. Russia isn’t that happy that America did this so they sent a fleet of 6 Slava cruisers in the front because after they salvo their sandbox missiles they are useless except an air defense, 6 Kirov class battle cruisers in the rear so they can last longer and pump out more P 700 shipwrecks, and One Russian aircraft carrier in the middle so human pilots can’t sneak around back to bomb it, frigates will stealth attack from the north and pump out P 800 onyx, if the carrier survives then 40 TU 22 backfires will launch in attack on the carrier as well as 40 SU 57 flankers we’ll take off from an airfield. Is this unrealistic yes if the USSR lasted would they have the resources to do this probably but we’re just here to have fun. I love Russian anti-air systems. They knew they had no chance in keeping up with the west in terms of Fighters and their mass production of 4th and 5th Gen fighters and bombers for that matter. The Russians spent their money on air defense systems and have developed some impressive machines. I don't know how the whole stealth thing would fair against Russian ground radars...they make some stupidly powerful radars that will track stealth jets but who knows at what range. The thing the west needs to worry about though is China anti air systems. They took the Russian designs, improved on them with their own tech and they now have a huge capable air force. War with China is something nobody should want. I'm guessing something of a war happens around Taiwan but hopefully it ends up being something like a show of force or scare tactic and stops quickly. But, Pantsir, all day, everyday. If something on the ground gives you issues, you have the guns to make it evaporate.
