Whoa this is weird.....I was on a bike ride through downtown Hattiesburg, MS yesterday and passed one of your facilities. Today, I randomly search YT for "what happens to a crushed car" and boom...LOL

A BMW 5-series E34 in seemingly good condition? Surely the parts of this would have been worth plenty?

+eccIefechan maybe it was in an accident and the frame is bent? not worth repairing anymore. because even with withe best machines you never get it straight. and should YOU at a later stage be involved i n an accident, try to convince the insurance to pay out.....

eccIefechan indeed that rear suspension would be great in the e30 with offset bushes

The can't just lump all the pieces together and melt them! The still has to be purified and then alloyed to the specific composition.

How does the huge pile of random types of metals get sorted?
@mistervipoo Жыл бұрын
Through Eddy Current Separater machine
@whez088 жыл бұрын
There are pieces of aluminum and copper that make it through the sorting process all the way to the steel melting pot. What happens then? They will melt with the steel, then what? How do the engineers handle contamination of copper and aluminum in the liquid steel? I know about slag, but it is only melted plastics and other light materials.
@FUSHUN_EJETMAGNET7 жыл бұрын
Eddy current separator could assist you to recycle the copper and aluminum before melt. we'd like to send you the details about the ECS Machine if you need, Elena jsyy@sino-magnets.com.cn
@picobyte7 жыл бұрын
Also lighter metals float during the melt,they get scrubbed of with the slag.

*For the first time*, i see a video that completely explains the whole cycle, which does make the crushing work more serious and not a funny stupid teenage attitude, whici we observ in some(LOTS) of videos around, in KZfaq.
@yoranw46086 жыл бұрын
Still, i believe the process could be improved. There are lots of other parts that can be saved and used as car parts, to the surviving ones.

@sixstanger00 Жыл бұрын
Glass is made from sand. Speaking in terms of abundance, it's up there with water. We could make glass for another million years and not come close to "running out of sand."
