But how does the Gripen fare against other fighters, such as the F15, F16, Typhoon and Russian-designed fighters??

2006, 18 years ago, that was with Gripen A, C/D and in particular Gripen E it is a whole different story 👍🏻

here in sweden we had all A modells uppgraded to C before 2006

And there is an F model out that is even more sophisticated being tested now. Most people say impossible, but with new interfaces and app-like functions, you can replace the hardware and have it work with the rest of the plane within 1-2 days compared to other planes in the rest of the world where it takes at least a week.

the A version was capable of decimating both f16s and f15s, the C version was capable of defeating typhoons in a 2v1 and had a very good K/D ratio against su27 and j11. Both those versions are nothing compared to the E version.

It is a pity that we cannot yet send Gripen to the Ukraine, as they wanted to concentrate on incorporating the F16s into their air force. I hope we will be able to support Ukraine with Gripen too eventually

Because that ejection seat is used in single seat aircraft or as backseat in a two-seat aircraft. (B, D and F versions.)

For English native speakers The pronunciation of Gripen (Griffin in English) in Swedish, the i is pronounced as "ee" in the word see.
